Removing the dash is really that simple? I've been dreading that.
I just got the raw ARB so I haven't gone through that, I'm sure it sucked.

Yeah, stupid simple. I've popped it apart probably 20 times now. Grab the dash, pull out, then 1 bolt. My midland is beside the glove box and I've got 2 taps to the 12v. I am worried about not grounding it right, I heard some weird noise when I first turned it on and the GMRS was.. I swear orange, but I haven't seen it do it again and I've been running the midland for a few weeks. I'm waiting for an electric gremlin though, those wires are so thin.

I thought about putting my radio to the left of the glovebox, but there were two aluminum tubes there that were pretty damn hot. I ended up putting it behind the panel under the steering wheel instead.

Does it require special grounding?

I remembered last night that it turned orange when my Quadratec light bar was turned on. I have the midland plugged into the 12v outlet, and my light bar (it has its own power switch) is plugged into the 12v tap, not an Aux like I was thinking. I tried it a few other times and it didn't do it but I'm guessing I need to ground something better. Or not run my lightbar on the outlet, maybe its gauge is too thin for both, not sure. At some point I'm going to wire the midland to either the aux battery or aux accessory line on the pass interior. Not sure which one I want, I figure I'll accidentally leave the radio on a lot, although it probably doesn't draw much.

Or my battery is an issue, it is 5-6 years oldn ow. I doubt the jeep was on when I tested it, installed both at the same time.

I didn't notice any hot tubes but I never checked while it was running, is that a heater thing or an engine thing?

They were sold out when I first tried to order them too, so I set an alarm for 5 minutes before the announced time that another batch would be available.

Note that the price might seem to jump by about $90 when you place the order. For me that was due to their site rendering it in Canadian dollars.

Also note that shipping was $80 CDN. I'm thinking that they have to cover customs in there too.
That $80 for shipping does not cover any fees except shipping. Depending on how the product is shipped will determine duty and brokerage fees. If it's USPS, there shouldn't be any extras. Anyone else, it will be more once it hits the front door.
