No, no you are not. There is no way that you can expect Jeep aftermarket parts manufactures to know every modification that every country is in the world is going to make to vehicles that cross their borders. Show me in their advertising where they claim to be global compatible.
When you clearly state on your site that the part is compatible with JL and you also sell your product outside of US, you should perhaps study if your product is really compatible in the countries/areas where you are selling so you may inform those customers that the product is not ready for them. Otherwise a non-US customer should easily assume the part is compatible with their car. I may be wrong, but that I consider a fair way of advertising an item.

But maybe you're right, this time I probably made a wrong assumption...

if Grimm does not come up with an updated version for non-US customers, I will just try to find somebody here to make a sort of adaptation.

I am just sad 'coz I really love this product, and I was just looking forward to seeing it installed on my Jeep...

I've passed word onto Grimm Off Road about this issue.

As most Jeeps are sold in North America, more specifically the USA, most aftermarket manufacturers are assuming that any parts sold are for the NA market. Nor do they typically have any Euro spec models to do test fits to.

That said, both Grimm and Northridge4x4 are great companies to deal with and they will do what they can to help resolve this issue.

I’ve had a couple of “life lessons” when it comes to adding aftermarket parts and accessories or making assumptions. The first is to go through all the instructions and as many YouTube videos as I can find to familiarize myself with what the installation entails. Then actually look at my own Jeep to see if there is anything unusual about it that may cause interference of parts or other problems. I suspect if you (or the installer if that isn’t you) compared the engine compartment of your Jeep to the videos you wouldn’t have ordered the parts.

The other issue I’ve run into is buying two aftermarket parts from different manufacturers that ended up having interference with each other. I have front lower control arm skids and a front diff skid that interfere with each other requiring cutting and clearancing both parts.

I don’t think it’s realistic to think your circumstance could have been foreseen by a U.S. manufacturer or retailer. Or that U.S. manufacturers have access to Jeeps in every configuration from foreign countries. Just one person’s opinion which you didn’t ask for.
I understand, I agree, and I thank you for your comment. Perhaps this is the first "life lesson" for me. Although I am a non-technician guy, I had no problem in installing (or better said, trying to install) the Grimm kit myself, the Northridge yt video was fabulous.

My mistake was probably that I did not compare the engine bay firstly, but I did not do that as I had never faced any issue like this (and would't think I would), and I had only bought compatible parts, and whenever a part was not for EU versions it was stated on the site.

At any rate, I repeat, the Grimm product is fantastic, Nothridge support and docs are top notch, but considering this situation it would probably be good for them to add on their product page that this is not compatible with the non-US versions.

It's not the end of the world anyway, I am just sad it did not work for me...

I get it and sympathize. You’re frustrated and probably a little wiser.

What if it works in every country's JL configuration except yours? Do you expect Northridge to test JLs from every country for every part and each part to have a spreadsheet including every country and it's compatibility? At the end of the day, if you purchase a Jeep in another country it is your responsibility to do your due diligence to see if your vehicle has been modified in any way that might impede the fit and function of aftermarket parts that are based on North American vehicle standards.

I understand and appreciate your efforts in finding a solution for this. I was just wrong assuming things based on my past experiece with no compatibility issues when purchasing other items from US.

However, there's no need to do anything in my case any longer, as I just found a different option with a cargo rack where the compressor will be installed using parts of the Grimm kit. That will be a perfect setup for me. I just purchased the rack, this time, of course, not before making sure it fits the EU version of the Jeep. :)

I believe we shall both learn from this, me to be more careful, and Grimm/Northridge to probably mention on their sites that this kit does not fit on EU Wranglers, or maybe release an update of the the product for EU ( if possible, of course).

Thanks again, and indeed Grimm and Northridge are great companies to deal with.

Great!
Good luck with your new direction, start a new thread and post up pics of your build as you go. 😎
