Have you successfully converted to wireless CarPlay?
Was your phone paired to other devices before you started?

Are you happy with your conversion?

I tried. The dongle I bought didn't work. The manufacturer said that it was because my phone was paired to my bluetooth hearing aids.

Depending on the phone you have, it may only be capable of being paired to one Bluetooth device at a time. Try disconnecting your hearing aids and see if the wireless CarPlay adapter will connect with your phone.

Thanks.
Except my hearing aids are essential. They were provided due to hearing loss at work due to loud noise on construction sites. They also are essential when I'm working at heights--that's why my iPhone is paired with my hearing aids.
I can't hear moving equipment behind me without them. They're working! I ain't touching them!

Wired CarPlay is a pain in a tender spot. I leave my phone in the Jeep, then have to walk a distance to retrieve it. It's part of my security connect for my computers.

Do you have the "media output" option on your pull-down menu? I don't remember how I enabled it, but it allows mutliple simultaneous Bluetooth connections on my phone

I am using the Ottocast adapter in the link below. My Phonak hearing aids are also paired with my iphone 12 at the same time and I don't have any problems running both. The only issues I've had with the adapter is that there are times my phone won't connect, I'd say 1 time out or 10 or 12 this happens. When it happens, I only have to unplug the adapter from the dash for a few seconds. When plugged back in, it works as it should.

What I started doing to make this a little easier while driving is I bought a short inline USB switch. One end connects to the media connection on the dash and the other to the USB cord on the adapter. When there is a problem connecting, turning the switch off and on has so far gotten it to reconnect. Being able to use the switch for this was actually a bonus. The reason I got it in the first place is because my Jeep is parked close enough to both the house and office that the adapter is constantly trying to connect when I’m out of the vehicle. I’ve missed several calls because it tries to answer though carplay which is what I want when driving but not when I’m not in the Jeep. It also causes my iphone battery to run down much faster since it is constantly trying to connect. My solution was the switch and I just shut it off when I get out and that is working great too. It isn’t a perfect solution but I’ve been using it like this since Christmas and have no complaints. I’ll ad a link to the switch I’m using also.

I bought the carlink 3.0 kit. For basic stuff it works fine. There is a good delay in the connection even though it connects with WIFi connections instead of normal blue tooth. When it gets overloaded it freezes and you have to reset it. I just open the console and unplug/replug it, but that USB Switch above would be a really nice option.
