There have been many threads about this. It seems to be 50/50 whether it works in the center console plug.

The problem with the wireless CarPlay adapters is the Jeep keeps the USB plugs on when you turn it off. The connection reconnects when I walk around my house near the garage and my calls get transferred to CarPlay.

Yes, with ignition off, all the JL's, USB ports remain powered on for approx. 60-70 mins..

An option would be to install and use a Power and Data ... Male to Female USB Cable Adapter with an On/Off Switch inline with your CarPlay dongle.

You would flip the switch on the inline switch to off, when you enter your JL, just prior to start-up when you do want to use your wireless Carplay dongle . When getting out of the JL after using your wireless CarPlay dongle, you flip the switch to off.

I had this same problem with my 2019 GC. The USB ports stayed on all the time and thus I just wound up unplugging the AAWireless everytime I parked the Jeep at home. So glad the 2024's are wireless already.

Or take the switch apart and replace it with a relay and tie that into ignition. Then you'll not have to fiddle with it.

:giggle: Or even easier.... go with an Android smartphone and an AAWireless brand dongle. AAWireless has an associated app that automatically disconnects the AAWireless dongle, so even though the USB ports stay powered up, you have no back and forth between the JL and the wireless dongle.

I have a MA-1 and an android. I just spent six bucks on the switched cable. Done. Thanks for the idea.

I tested a bunch of them a while back. This one seemed to work the best and no issues with the center console plug:

https://www.amazon.com/Carlinkit-Wireless-CarPlay-Adapter-Factory/dp/B08P1GWQDB

All of them had their own quirks. This one connected quickly and stayed connected. They release firmware updates to keep improving the UI. The touchscreen "lag" wasn't as noticeable on the 3.0 as it was on the newer 5.0 model. I just couldn't figure out how to get the audio quality on any of them to sound as good as it does on wired CarPlay.
