Does seem to be more windshields breaking on this forum than I've ever witnessed in real life for sure - could they just be lousy to start with ?
I mean like much weaker than regular windshields in all the other cars for the last 50 years? ?
I'm starting to think maybe... yes !
Also, that Gorilla warranty pretty much tells you how much they believe in their own product - "It has to be under 1.68" but larger than 1.52" and can't have any cracks and has to happen during a full moon and then we roll the dice and if a 7 comes up you get a new windshield, if a 3,4 or 5 comes up we fill it with windshield glue from Walmart, any other numbers and we deny your claim and send you dog doo in the mail"
Probably just get the regular windshield if they both suck so bad anyways :(

There are a ton of stipulations around the Gorilla Glass warranty. Even though mine was only 6 months old, they did not cover my crack because it split quickly past their 2" or whatever it is maximum.
I've got an appointment to have mine replaced. The service writer gave the impression that it wasn't a big deal, but we'll see. The cracks are definitely more than two feet (not inches) long.

Victim Blaming... LOL... "The man is keeping me down breaking my windshield!"
I've had lots of people on these forums claiming that it's the driver's fault and that if we simply learned to drive that we wouldn't have damaged windshields.

The angle of our windshields is a prime contributor to the issue. Fortunately it's sloped slightly back from what was in the JK.

Wife just had her gorilla glass replaced under warranty and the crack was longer then 12" rock hit right on the edge of the glass.

USAA does not cover glass in Colorado unless you claim it as an accident and then you have to pay the deductible.

2021 JLUR

1. OEM windshield - took a rock from a truck within first 5 miles driving home from purchasing it at the dealer!!! Chunked out a quarter size hole.
2. OEM windshield - 6 months after above, took a rock from another truck that was traveling the opposite direction
3. Gorilla Glass - held up OK for a year and a half and then chipped from a rock and when it got cold a month later, spread quickly
4. Cheap aftermarket windshield - 1/3 price of Gorilla Glass held up for a year before taking a monster rock that would have broken any type of windshield.
5. Cheap aftermarket windshield - pitted but holding it's own.
It was such a surprise for me moving from MA.
In MA state requires all insurance to cover at least one free replacement per year. I replaced 2 on a Honda Element for free, and one on a PT Cruiser forever ago for free. The Mini never broke the glass.
and the Jeep is 5.5k miles since January 27th and no pits or chips yet so far ?
