Got my Mopar winch plate and Warn Zeon 10-s installed. OEM steel bumper. Getting the inner bumper bolts torqued down was a pain, but otherwise not a bad install.

I used this adapter plate to go between the bumper and the fairlead: https://www.allmoparparts.com/sku/82215528ab.html - it didn't come with any mounting hardware or instructions, but my fairlead did come with some mounting hardware. Just wondering if it is supposed to go through the fairlead, adapter, and bumper - or through the fairlead, adapter, bumper, and also the front of the winch plate. Does it matter? Thanks.

I had to purchase some longer bolts from Lowe’s as the ones that came with the Warn winch were too short and ran the 2 bolts through the fairlead, the adapter plate, the bumper and the winch plate. It helps tie everything together solidly.

Thanks. I was thinking that is what people were going to say. The bolts that came with my fairlead were long enough to get through the fairlead, adapter, and bumper but not the winch plate. I guess I’ll have to get some longer bolts and take the bumper off again to get it right. Ugh.

The fun of jeeps haha. It was definitely a squeeze getting things tightened up, thankfully I could squeeze a wrench and my hand between the winch and bumper.

I put my winch on the plate first and then had help lifting and placing it to bolt in the bumper. I also did a plate on the plastic bumper.

I didn't originally go through the winch plate and it was never an issue and I used the winch a few times like that. In the end, it bothered me so I did it correctly.

Thanks. It’ll bother me too and I’ll end up fixing it. But I’ll probably hold off until after summer.

Longer bolts, make sure they are the better grade, then painted them black.

you can do this without taking the bumper off, I did it.

reread the thread, maybe you can just loosen the bumper and pull it forward to get to your bolts?

The nut was so stuck between the bumper and winch plate on mine that I had to remove everything and start all over. Not a big deal, just a hassle.

I used grade 8 and left them gold since it matches my wheels and will match my MC bumpers when they come in.

I’d definitely have to remove the bumper as well. Not enough room between the bumper and the winch plate to get the bolt out.

Really wish Mopar designed the adapter plate to fit the shape of the bumper better. If I have to remove everything to fix the bolts, I might look at other options for the adapter plate too. Anyone have a recommendation for a different adapter plate?

I used the Grimm one-piece winch plate and the Grimm Mid-Height grill guard. The end result is excellent and everything fits tight but was a total PITA...On the '24's to clear the grill (I have just under 1/4" between the edge of the grill and the top of the Zeon 10-S) you have to pull the Grimm plate all the way forward and upward, slide the Warn Zeon 10-S all the way forward on the winch plate and trim the middle and top of the inside frame horns. Not willing to shim the front bumper out an extra 1/2 inch I also had to trim the inside upper bumper mounting brackets to clear the winch...an extra 2.5 hours! The front tabs on the Grimm mount actually push against the front of the bumper but I used grade 8 hardware and tightened alternating left / right sides to pull everything flush. The new grill design gives more room at the bottom for wiring but less at the top, making it much harder to mount a large size winch using existing mounting plates...Easier on previous JL's.

End Result Excellent...

my warn fill plate was also bent to conform tot he bumper. but it did not fit exact. I got a factor 55 fairlead so I had to get different bolts. When ya'll were tensioning the line, did anyone notice the cable running over the bottom edge of the rope opening? Maybe it was the angle I was pulling when I tensioned my cable, but looks like mine will rub on the bottom of the opening. (I guess that's what the abrasion sleave can be used for?)

Which adapter/filler plate did you use? Got any pics?

Thanks. Can you post a picture of your Warn filler plate when you have a chance? I've seen pictures of the plate itself but haven't seen any of it installed.
