Our wifi hot spot was working and 2 things happened: the 2021 JLU went into the dealer for some correction to work they had badly done & we got a short antenna so the passenger could get photos without having the antenna in the pics. Now the WIFI can’t connect to the internet. Has anyone else seen any correlation with the antenna? The new shortie is getting AM/FM and XM just fine

The XM and WiFi antennas are not run off of the AM/FM whip. Try to pull fuse 97 under the hood, count to 5 and plug it back in to see if your WiFi comes back. Your UConnect screen will look weird for an hour or so but it will revert back to the normal look after. And you won’t loose any settings.

That’s what I do when mine acts up.

OK. I pulled F97.

Good News: WiFi hotspot now works perfectly. (before devices could connect, but no internet access - multiple calls to Uconnect and AT&T were a waste of time).

Bad News: My Backup Camera stopped working, My Auto Temp display is stuck on "LO", Offroad Pages do not sow up on the display and launching via button, fails to load properly.

Any ideas/suggestions?

(P.S. I have a Tazer. Should I do a full reboot?)

I’ve had no issues with my backup camera, but the LO temp and off road pages have taken a few minutes to an hour or so to come back. For me it usually comes back after a shut off and start back up thing.

I did have to pull the fuse again one time in a trip when it never did come back after an hour or so. thats when I started pulling, counting to 5 and reinserting it.

OK. Here is how I solved it.

I had tried, multiple shutdown, lock, unlock, restart. Drive around, etc. Features didn't return.

Did a Tazer Full Reboot. Everything came back after the reboot.

All works perfectly all my settings preserved.

AND

I'm typing this from my computer in the Jeep connected via the Jeep hotspot.

Would be tons easier with a Tazer for sure.

Knock on wood: took mine to the dealer a few weeks ago, they couldn’t find any info on these issues or any way to fix it so they sent me on my way with the hope in a few weeks to a month or two UConnect was releasing a new version that would fix it.

It’s been fine ever since.

I hate all these new gadgets sometimes……..

That's what I love most about the Tazer. Fixes a lot of shit with that reboot!

I just signed up today for the hot spot with AT&T. It worked until I stopped and got out to take pictures. Once I restarted the hotspot showed active on the Jeep screen but no longer showed on any device I tried to find it on. Thought maybe it was because I was in a low Wi-Fi area but even when I got back to town the hotspot would not show up. I would love to know if anyone has found a solution that works or if I should just cancel my subscription.
thanks,
Beth

Pull fuse #97, count to 10 and reinsert it. If it comes back you have the same issue I have.

I can confirm this is still an issue with the 2022s. I picked up a 2022 JLUR last Friday. I turned on the WiFi trial on the 23rd. Worked perfectly. However the following day, I noticed it said I was "connected but had no internet." Thought maybe I was just in a bad area (though I know I wasn't as it was nearby the area I activated the trial in). Tried again yesterday, still the same thing. I checked the amount of data used and I was at 500mb (out of the max 1gb allowed during the trial). So I didn't hit my limit.

Reading through the thread it seems AT&T likes to blame UConnect and UConnect likes to blame AT&T and the only temporary fix is pulling fuse 97. I have NOT tried that because it seems you risk bricking software or turning off certain features temporarily which I do not want to do on my brand new Jeep. Though from the comments, this seems to be a UConnect 4 issue. If there was a way to manually reset the WiFi (just like unplugging your router at your home for 30 seconds), it would probably fix the issue. Though since it involves pulling a fuse for your whole radio, that seems counter-intuitive. Especially since the problem tends to come back.

Safe to say, I will probably just take this free trial as a learning example that it isn't worth the additional monthly cost to keep using it. Which is a shame because I really would like to use it. I know someone else mentioned using the Tazer but I don't want to spend that amount of money on a purchase to make a feature that should normally just work. Plus, I don't want to risk messing up anything installing it since the Jeep is still so new. Rather dumb of AT&T to lose money on something because the UConnect software seems to not have a way to manually reset it. You'd think they would fight that harder. Plus those who have changed out whole radio head units at the dealership are probably swapping out good radio head units since the problem keeps returning or getting worse and not even letting them login with their provided password. Seems like a waste of time to change out a whole unit that is working perfectly, outside the WiFi puck.

Just wanted to let anyone reading this know of my experience with it and that it is still a problem. If anyone does know (since I am going to the dealership for another issue), can the dealer do anything to reset it that is a more "official" without replacing parts or just pulling fuse 97? I will probably bring up the issue to them then and just wanted to know ahead of time. Thanks for your time.

The dealer would not pull the fuse to reset it since it wasn’t an “official” fix. I had to do it myself.

Sorry it’s still an issue, I’ve just learned to deal with it and reset it when I get home or park for a few hours. That way everything is reset and working when I get back in it.

After reading this thread earlier today, the internet on my hotspot stopped working for the first time today. Message on phone was "Connected without Internet". I suspected the problem was with my Samsung phone. So I deleted The Wifi hotspot from my phone and let my phone discover the hotspot again, and entered password again. Working just fine again. Must have been an update on the phone that broke it.

What is a low Wi-Fi area? Why would terrian or location impact Wi-Fi signal from your Jeep to your devices? Were youand the device in "line of sight" to your Jeep?

I guess I just think if this feature normally with connected devices INSIDE the Jeep.

Lots of posts and all same issue. I see the "pull the fuse", makes me a bit nervous as I'm new to jeeps. I have had mine 3 months. Got the got spot subscription with ATT, about a month in kept seeing that I was connected but no internet available. Worked with ATT who said everything looked good and I needed to take to the dealer. Dealer worked on troubleshooting with ATT only for me to say I needed to come get my vehicle (after 7 days, single mom and only adult in the house). Dealer had not heard back from ATT with most recent queation. Got my jeep and whoa, internet worked for about 2 weeks. Went out again and same run around, ATT says I need to take it back to the dealer. Thankfully they refunded my year subscription and gave me 1 month free, which is up soon. So problem not solved and not going to be able to troubleshoot (I imagine) unless I pay for unavailable internet again.

Very disappointing, at the point i feel like i should get a refund on my vehicle purchase as it isnt living up to the features I paid for. No way I'll get that though.

Any other fixes that have worked for people?

Yup, pull the fuse, count to 5, and reseat it. I’ve found the best time to do it is when I park for the night because everything will be correct when I get in it in the morning.

I get it, sounds daunting, and it’s not something we should have to do but trust me when I say it’s easy, and it works, and it keeps you from resenting your vehicle. Until they get a fix there isn’t much choice.
