I'm not sure how many times I've taken it hunting so far this year, but she's gone after dove, deer and duck so far. This was the first deer this year (5 total so far).

Dang man! An ACTUAL bow hunteršŸ‘šŸ˜Š. I thought we were extinct. Iā€™ve not seen a real bow in the woods in ages, usually itā€™s those things with wheels and cables, and these days a Lot of them are equipped with stocksšŸ˜³. My old Hoyt has spent a lot of time in the field over the past 45 yrs. Now if somebodyā€™d post a flinter my whole day would be madešŸ˜Š

2018 Jeep JL Rubicon & 2004 Jeep TJ. Previously owned 1993 Cherokee, 1980 CJ5, & M151A2 while in the Military. For the love of Jeeps !
Rubicon makes deer recovery easy. This is precisely why I bought a 2 Dr. It makes getting around those trees easy with itā€™s very tight turning radius. I use a block & tackle to lift the deer, swing his hind end into the cargo basket, then lower the rest of him into the basket.

Sometimes I use the Jeep to do the heavy lifting. If I didnā€™t have the Jeepā€¦..my hunting would be seriously limited.
my Rubicon has minor scratches down both sides from branches & bushes. They remind me of the EPIC adventures it has taken me.

I have one of those handy little hitch racks but I never thought to use it for a rest. Thanks for posting that pic, I need to go try that out.

For archery I felt like I needed to do it the real way, but I hardcore cheat during muzzleloader (scoped cva accura shooting sabots with bh209.... Basically a single shot rifle).

I do wish more hunters would try out the joys (and frustration) of a single string. It really gives an appreciation for how hard hunting for food must have been!

100% on the money. I ve always bowhunted with a stick bow-wanted the challenge (and it isšŸ‘). For deer itā€™s a side hammer long rifle shooting round balls or my flinter. I did use a Gonic 87 for elk years ago but thatā€™s as modern as Iā€™ve gotten. Also enjoy hunting with handgun. Iā€™m going to eat whether I score or not, but primitive/limited range weapons sure put the challenge back into the huntšŸ˜Š

Mine hasn't been lucky enough to carry any deer home for me yet this season (seen more hunters than deer on the public land I hunt) but been great for small game. Went after geese yesterday using the new roof rails and kayak mount my amazing wife got me for Christmas. Had some flying but they all flew over the public land to the adjacent farm's pond next to a cut corn field. Needless to say I did not bring in the new year with a bang.
Nothing wrong with those bows with wheels and cables. šŸ˜
I do prefer shooting my recurves to my compound but dang it's amazing how ridiculously accurate the compound is out to 50 yards.

Nice to see some other 4xes getting put to good use! Electric sure is nice coming in and out of the woods lol

Would love to see some pics of the interior showing how some of you are storing rifles in the Jeep while traveling for hunting trips. Currently my jeep stays in a mess packed full of hunting stuff. Would love to find a better way to organize/mount some of it.

Below is a couple pics of the only 2 I have hauled out with mine so far. Nice size doe in Early December, and small 8 point Dec 30th.

I'm a cable and pulley guy, as well as handgun and rifle. I haven't taken big game with a muzzle loader yet. Might not get the chance. We'll see.

But to the bows, I just can't hold a high enough weight bow at draw to be useful for big game. But I can still draw back a pretty hefty cam bow in my old age.

I find it refreshing to see folks using Jeeps for what the original CJā€™s were built for.šŸ˜Š. I use mine to hunt, to fish, and to explore. (Same as Iā€™ve always done with my 4wdā€™s). I donā€™t understand the appeal of a Jeep if youā€™re not into the outdoors-guess itā€™s an ā€œimageā€ thing for the Walter Mittys of the world-and thatā€™s ok because those sales keep them in productionšŸ‘
