Been looking at apartments with garages, I can get a two car deep garage with a meh floor plan in a meh area. This place will supposedly be cool next year. Or I found a place in a way better area with all the cool apartment things like free Starbucks, pool and grills and a nice gym, movie room, game room... kegerator. Both with a dog park. The cool place only has a single car garage, I looked in one that was being used and it will fit the jeep, and hopefully the top and doors. The door was several inches higher too.

Does anyone have any lessons learned on garage experiences with their Jeeps?

A really good question! I do not have a usable garage for parking and my cars have always stayed outside but I was considering adding a carport on the side on my house. With my luck my wife will take it for her Lincoln MKX though!

Learn to use every available square inch of wall and ceiling space. It's amazing how much you can store in a 1-car garage with enough ingenuity.

Make sure you’re Jeep will fit height wise. Add about 6-12 inches as well because sooner or later you will add a lift and bigger tires and maybe, just maybe a cargo rack or roof rack.

I bought my last house before I bought my Jeep and after a lift and tires it would barely fit. I added a cargo basket on top and no bueno...had to park the Jeep outside. It seems I got the standard height garage door when other houses in my neighborhood had extended height doors...who knew.

And my next garage will be a three car layout with possibly a tandem option...plus I plan to add a lift so I can literally park two cars in one spot.

I am planning on tearing my old garage (my jeep doesn't fit because it is super small and low). Will be destroying it and building it from scratch hopefully this summer. Interested to hear with others have to say.

Just left an apartment complex. The units and amentities are really nice. The garage is taller than others in the area which is awesome but I’m almost concerned on the width of the door. For now it seems ok but some 12.5” wide tires might make it a little dangerous ya think?

It looks close on the sides. Are those the LED tail lights on the Sport?

Ya the door makes me a little nervous. Once in it was roomy enough for storage in my opinion. Stock tires are 9.6” wide so 12.5” wouldn’t make me think I couldn’t get in the garage but I also don’t know how much wheels would add.

Those are indeed the led taillights on the Sport.

The width looks ok to me. I have a 3 bay garage at my house and park mine in the single side without any issues.
