2019 JLU Sahara (loaner). On suburban freeway with frequent but slight elevation changes (underpasses), the transmission is constantly switching to 7th on the incline and 8th on the decline and flat road. It's kind of annoying hearing the 1700 rpm then the 2100 rpm and back again.

Solution: Move the shift lever left to the "M" setting and it'll stay in 8th. It still has no trouble maintaining speed on the inclines.

So while under more load(incline) it downshifts and under less load(decline) it upshifts. Sounds normal for using cruise control.

This is perfectly normal. The transmission is working as it is intended too.
That's why I noted that while locked in 8th it had no trouble maintaining 70. Sounds like it could use a slightly less sensitive switch for downshifting.

My tranny was a little "weird" like that too when I first got it, but after 2K or so miles it started acting a little more "normal". Any idea how many miles were on it?

It's got less than 2k right now. Thanks for the input.

I only have a couple hundred on mine, and I did notice it hunts a lot. I assume it is learning, and it has been very windy
