Here’s a post from @The Last Cowboy. Not sure if it’s related.

It will likely be the small trim piece at the bottom front corner of the window, next to the rearview mirror. I popped it off, taped over the holes under it with quality duct tape, then put just a slice in the tape for the alignment pins and clips to go though. Then I put 3M automotive molding tape around the edges of the trim pieces before putting it back on. The wind noise was very significantly reduced after that.

My fix was more for the wind noise, which would get bad on the highway. Those little filler pieces at the front lower corners of the door windows are the problem. Whistling is different, and suggests air rapidly moving over a sharp edge.

My antenna sometimes whistled before I covered it with electrical shrink wrap. But it only whistled when I was in a crosswind, driving on the highway.

Anything on the exterior of the Jeep is a candidate.

You need to have one person track it down while someone else drives.
the pisser to it all is that its intermittent. was fine this morning when i went out. yesterday it screamed all the way into town. its gotta be that a door just isnt closing right or perhaps the sudden air pressure shift from the door close itself pushes back some rubber or something i dont know.

Had the wife ride like we were muslims so she could try to find it while we drive. maddening because I hear it behind me while shes convinced the sound is coming from the top center above the rear view mirror. shuffling around with a towel to try to block areas at random hasn't yielded results yet.

Its the perfect annoyance - there is no point in taking it back to the dealership on this one yet the jeep is new.

Sounds like the office pranks we used to pull in the old days. Get a device that beeps randomly at a frequency that's hard to track down and put it in the ceiling of an officemate.

yeah i thought about that but i keep it in a garage and dont have friends that would do such a thing even if they had access to it. it sounds like a natural thing.

my guess so far is the stripping on the roof panels arent sitting right. next time it acts up ill shuffle those around and see what happens
