Going to be ordering some new wheels and tires for my 2020 JLUR. I've narrowed it down to the wheel tire combo I want but I'm not sure what offset to get. The wheel is a 18 x 9.5 on 35 x 12.5 tires. Offset is -18 with 4.5bp or 0 with 5.25 bp. I like it when the tire sticks out some but wasn't sure how far the -18 with 4.5 bp will look or if it would be too far. Anyone have any pics of something similar or able to give a recommendation. Thanks

Well, depending on if you plan to run a lift or flex it a lot might also matter to you. Most lift manufacturers recommend 4.5” backspacing or less to clear all components, but I know on Metalcloak lifts with rubicon axles you can get away with 4.75” because that’s what I run.

Personally, I like to keep as much tire under the fender flare as possible so I would lean towards the 0 offset wheels unless it’s going to interfere with future suspension components. I have 0 offset on an 8.5” wide wheel and there’s still some poke. I have the same size tire (315/70r17) so yours would stick out a half inch further.

Sorry it’s hard to accurately capture stance on camera, but these should give you an idea.

Don't plan on doing a lift or anything just wanted some bigger tires and diff wheels for it is all. But I like a wide stance I just don't want it too wide.

Here is a screen shot of a wheel calculator showing you where the new wheel will sit in relation to the stock wheel. The Blue is the new wheel which will push the front lip of the wheel outward 3.43 inches compared to the stock wheel. Wider tires will make it wider as well.

18” rim over 17”? If you intend on off-roading your rig, 17” rims are where it’s at. Far more tire choices as well. Just my 2 cents.

Absolutely totally 0 offset. With -18 the Jeep will ridiculously look like old school rollerskates.

The 18x9.5 -18 will extend approximately 3.5 inches past the fenders. The 18x9.5 -0 will extend approximately 2.75 inches past the fenders. This is with 35x12.5 tires.
