Like I mentioned before, you get a whole lot more with a Rubicon weather you need it or not.
If you can get the hood fixed with a PDR thats awesome or visit Rubitrux and get the same from a take off or maybe something a little different? Either way you can not go wrong as long as your happy with the end result, or drive it until they figure out the clutch issue. Or look for a preowned 6sp and there are plenty of members who did the clutch fix on their own.

A new clutch is cheaper than a $4500 automatic which is crazy!!!!
Why are the automatic trans prices so different on so many different builds? because of build date? Or is it somehow squeezed into the model you build? How can it be a $2500 option on some and a $4000 or $4500 on others?

I have a White 2024 2D Willys MT on order. I got a great deal from Granger motors (6% under invoice) - but who know when I will actually get it??
A different local dealer has a Sarge Green 2023 JLU Rubicon 4xe in stock that has hail damage. I have seen the pictures. The soft top was not damaged, and there are 4-5 hail dents on the hood. The widow sticker is $65,960, and the dealer has it discounted to $48,995. Less the $3,750 tax rebate, the end price would be $45,245. Just about $3,000 more than the 2024 2D Willys MT I have on order.
Either vehicle will be a weekend fun toy. I already have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland as my daily driver.
I REALLY like the look of the Willys I have on order, but I am finding myself having a hard time passing up the 4xe at such a good price (or IS it a good price??).
I already have a level 2 charger in my garage for my wife's PHEV, so that is a plus.
Thoughts? What would YOU do in this situation??
Just wait for the one you ordered. Don’t buy a headache

Repairable hail damage is far from a headache, waiting forever for a manual trans is IMO
Paying less and getting more with a higher resale value is a pretty good deal too

It's a way of hiding the cost difference between the 2.0t and the 3.6L in my opinion. Being the manual is only available with the 3.6L you can't directly compare base model to base 2.0t as the trans is an "option" that isn't optional.

I don`t know how others feel about it but most of us long time Jeepers know what it really does cost to build a Jeep to your liking but to be hit with a $4500 automatic trans option just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. In this day and age where you can hardly find a high end car with 3 pedals a mind blowing automatic transmission is standard. We are not really getting any new high tech technology compared to what is out there, power seats wow!

Jeep has the straight axle market in its pocket but for how much longer? I did watch a side by side comparison of the Ford Bronco Bad Lands? equipped with the same 315 BFG`s and I did not even realize the difference in the ground clearance until it was pointed out. Sure you could buy better axles for your Jeep and now you can do the same for your bronco, I think the aftermarket is catching up pretty fast on making a pretty decent Bronco. I have always owned a Jeep and being the owner of a Raptor that cost about the same as my 392 Rubicon is like comparing a early 70`s VW bug to a mercedes. There is a big price difference between the two and they will both get you from A to B but comfort and options are far from even being close. kinda like the Jeep and Bronco.

Not to change subjects but while I was overseas I had the pleasure of driving a Raptor Ranger with a diesel and they have been around for years just not imported to the US, now they are on their way here and from what I have read the midsize truck market is going to heat up with the Colorado, Raptor Ranger and Ram`s new Rampage. Again look at what you get for the money you spend.

I think it is interesting that AEV has coupled up with Jeep and also Chevy too, should be interesting

My point was the v6 is more expensive than the 2.0t, but being the only option for the manual it is listed as the standard engine. The trans price difference is just a shell game vs making the 2.0t "option" -$2000 vs the "standard" V6 when both are equipped with the auto. A "base" Rubicon is $52,165 with the manual, 54,685 with the 2.0t, or 56,685 with the V6. If the manual was available with the 2.0t it would be $49,685. In reality the trans is $2,500 and the V6 is $2k but it would confuse people to price it out like that in my opinion.

2024 Willys has a rear locker correct?

I would go with the one with the rear locker personally.
I would go for the willy. The brake based traction system is actually very good on the Wrangler. It sounds like there is no situation where you would actually need the Rubicon's lockers.

Generally with Jeeps I prefer to get new.

Check Craig’s list for a hood on the cheap.

I’d buy the Rubi.

Hail damage can be a pretty easy fix. I wonder why the dealer isn’t fixing it since doing it in house would be cheaper than the discount they are offering?
