I have a White 2024 2D Willys MT on order. I got a great deal from Granger motors (6% under invoice) - but who know when I will actually get it??
A different local dealer has a Sarge Green 2023 JLU Rubicon 4xe in stock that has hail damage. I have seen the pictures. The soft top was not damaged, and there are 4-5 hail dents on the hood. The widow sticker is $65,960, and the dealer has it discounted to $48,995. Less the $3,750 tax rebate, the end price would be $45,245. Just about $3,000 more than the 2024 2D Willys MT I have on order.
Either vehicle will be a weekend fun toy. I already have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland as my daily driver.
I REALLY like the look of the Willys I have on order, but I am finding myself having a hard time passing up the 4xe at such a good price (or IS it a good price??).
I already have a level 2 charger in my garage for my wife's PHEV, so that is a plus.
Thoughts? What would YOU do in this situation??

2024 Willys has a rear locker correct?

I would go with the one with the rear locker personally.

Yes, 2024 Willys has a rear locker.
How important would that be in my situation? I live in Iowa and will never (or very rarely) be on any true 4wd trails.

How important is the MT and the 2 door aspect?

Personally I'd lean towards the 4xe due to HP and torque.

Both vehicles have rear lockers (the rubicon 4xe having a front locker as well)

I'd say this is up to personal preference. Will the hail damage vehicle have a branded title?

No, the hail damage vehicle won't have a branded title. probably $500 in hail damage. I would just get it fixed with PDR right away.

Just got more interesting - and a more difficult decision. The Rubicon 4XE qualifies for the $1,000 bonus cash. so final price would be $48,995 - $1,000 - $3,750 for a total of $44,245.

I believe they are still doing $7,500 lease TC. The extra $3750 would take the hit of the two fees, but still be a couple grand. Could one pay the lease then buy it out, or just roll with a super low lease payment for a few years.

you can use the savings to buy a new hood and have it painted.

Where do you see that leasing the Jeep gets a $7,500 tax credit, but buying only gets $3,750?
Jeep Wrangler JL Which one would you choose? 1696613855039

I can't find anything about a lease getting a higher rebate.

Has the dealer confirmed that's the actual out the door price for you on the Rubicon?

The hood on my 2023 is fiberglass. How can that hood have dents?

The lease company goes commercial version of the credit.

Great question that I don't know the answer to. Dealer sent me pics of the hood, and it definitely has hail dents.
