I have 37" tires, on the freeway, in 8th gear, it stays at 1600 rpm. Is that ideal or do I need to regear? Still on stock 3.73.

My 3.0L Ram has 3.92 gears and 33” tall tires. I turn 2000rpm at 72mph. Never really looked at/remembered what RPM at 65mph. I’ll look the next time I run it down the interstate.

You have a 3.0L diesel that doesn't have eight gears? Did you remove the transmission?
No, instead of removing the transmission, I added 0.6 liters and 4.88 gears.

1,600 is perfectly fine for a diesel.

Some people run 4.10 or 4.56 gears with 37s and are happy.

I have 3.73s and 37s and I find it to be a good combination.

Do you need to regear? No.

Then why do you keep asking me about my 3.6L?

It's fine.

I'm running 37's and also was around 1600-1700 at 65mph in 8th when I just checked this morning.

You can regear if you want but it's not really necessary with the 8-speed transmission and 37's.
