Hello,

Wondering if anyone knows what the loud click is after starting up. Sounds like a MK19 being chambered or a supersized 12GA on the first stroke. I don't think it is the starter.

So far, I love this Ecodiesel short of MPGs. Averaging 22 stock 90% highway. 5,300 miles.

Can you make a video?
Also your MPG is pretty low. I'm guessing you're either averaging 80mph on the highway, or something else is going on. Wind resistance starts to tear apart MPG above 75.
I have some heavier mods on mine and I get around 25mpg, and I can milk it and get 27 if I keep it under 65mph.

I had my camera rolling when I was leaving work, it did not do it. Does it about 75% of the time. The 'click' that is. As for the MPGs, here is a picture of my tracker. I live in SE WA. My commute is 50+ miles each way, and have a 1,000+ foot elevation change each direction. Lots of hills and curves. Average speed is 65-75 MPH.

I've heard this same thing and believe it is the vacuum pump. Diesel's don't create the same kind of vacuum as Gas engines used for various features so there has to be a mechanical (electric) pump. Somebody correct me me if I'm mistaken.

As far a mileage, I'm in the 22 to 24 range most of the time...but it didn't use to be that way...just this winter. I use to occasionally get 30 but was mostly 26 to 27. I'm thinking it winter blend fuel. I sure hope it improves. 22 sucks when you're use to high 20's...but it doesn't suck as bad as $4.00 diesel...

I can get 25 city and 31 hwy on my 21 willys gladiator when I'm driving it. My wife not so much. It all depends on how smooth you are with the go pedal.

it’s probably A broken weld that goes from the DPF to the transmission. It happened to my ecodiesel right at 7k miles.

Well except that my ‘22 JLURD makes the exact same sound fairly often and has since about 300 miles on the odometer. I posted the same thing on an ecodiesel fb group and several other members have the same sound but no ideas as to what it is either.

No not mine. I put about 2 shiny pennies into Youtube and drama shows. So they left it and someone else grabbed it? My Diesel has none of those sounds.
