So you are going to save us all?

He owns a Jeep, so he is like us and we already know that we all make bad decisions. so likely not. But hey maybe he is lucky. So I say give him a chance, he is obviously smart and maybe chance with bless him. There is hope.

I worked in ER's for a decade, but my only job for the last 7 years is Dad. My wife travels too much for her job for me to hold down a regularly scheduled job

Thanks, I needed a laugh after a long day. I'd like to make a joke but my brain is empty and needs to be refilled with gin.

So what does everybody do for a living? ...
I watch Covid and protest news these days. Retired in January 2020, just in time to watch the world come unglued. I'm looking forward to better days. My wife and I worked hard, had great professional careers in engineering , saved quite a nest egg, had great plans for traveling the world in our retirement. But here we sit.

Project manager, Lean, Six-Sigma, Process Improvement Specialist. Before that, machinist supervisor, machinist, Vietnam veteran.
Sounds like we were on similar paths, at least early in my career. I worked in so many little machine shops in Gardena in the 70s, I can't recall all of them. Also, Northrop, Rockwell, and Garrett Airesearch mostly as a machinist and later in QA. Then hooked up with my wife who was a mechanical engineer, went to night school and then to work for McDonnell Douglas as a QA eng, then later in flight test as a regulatory coordinator and on to certification engineer for the last 20 years, after Boeing took over. Hung it up in January.

I am a retired Mechanical Engineer. This week marks my 8th year of retirement.

Next month, I hit 60. I have been quite fortunate. Retirement is great. Retirement with a Jeep is fantastic! :jk:
Wish I could have done what you did. 64, retired in Jan. from Boeing. Wish the world would gather itself back together so I can get on with the good stuff.

I was/am very fortunate and have never taken my situation for granted. Upon retiring in March of 2011, I did a lot of outreach work for non-profits. It was some of the most rewarding work that I have ever done.

Moving forward . . . Congrats on your retirement! Things will smooth out, soon. May you have a long road of retirement adventures ahead of you.

My boss kept asking me when I was going to retire. He finally left and got another position back east. I really don't want to retire because as the old saying goes "twice the wife and half the income ". I will be 70 in a little more than a week. Survived a heart attack last year with no damage to my heart. I got the jeep because I still have living to do. Because of the Covid19 thing many coworkers were sent home due to being in the high risk category. The last couple months have shown me that I can someday retire, but not yet.

I enjoy finding better ways of doing things. Team leading and finding solutions to help people and processes become more efficient and safe.

Cardiac cathlab tech here. Extremely stressful but equally satisfying.
