Haven't been on for a while. It started out a good thing, my wife and I just bought a new house and I'd been busy with that. Then a couple weeks ago I was driving back to VA for work and rear-ended a CRV on I-95. Shop is ordering parts, once everything in they said it's a 32-day job.
I-95. It's like rolling the dice to see what'll happen each trip.

Wife and I travel I-95 from Northern VA to VA Beach frequently (family there), never a dull day. We picked up a '21 4Runner Venture a few years back, and 1-month of owning....was boxed in on #1 lane with construction semi-truck to my right and it dropped fist-fulls of gravel all over the hood and front, windshield etc. $8,000 damage from gravel. Couldn't do anything about it including slowing down as there were several more of those semi's behind that one and it would have been a lineup of gravel fun. No plates on vehicles or placards indicating the company. Super frustrating. USAA said that they had over 20 similar claims that day alone from construction trucks and gravel.

I feel for you brother. Good luck. Happens to the best of us.

Having a relaxing off road weekend with my daughter in my brand new jeep in the Ozark National Forest (Just traded in the old one 4 weeks prior). We got off the trail to head to this hole in the wall cafe for lunch. Beautiful Easter Weekend morning. Just went for a hike to a waterfall. Then I woke up in the ICU. According to her someone a half ton Silverado crossed over into our lane on a curve and hit us head on. I had my tires down to 18 so I was keeping it around 40 MPH. Speed limit was 60 and they were probably doing ALL of that. I swerved so it hit my side more than my daughters. Two truck occupants and I were airlifted. Daughter contacted 911, coordinated the good samaritans who stopped got all the propane and gas out of the jeep while they were extracting me in case of fire (Smart girl, only 17) and then went by ambulance to get check out. She was for the most part uninjured. Absolute miracle. I had 4 broken and 1 dislocated foot and heel bones, shattered knee cap level 4 concussion (I didn't know before this concussions had grades) and multiple pelvic fractures. Through the whole 3 months of non-weight bearing I was just thankful to be alive and my daughter was safe. Got a new jeep (didn't have any extreme recons like the last one :( but happy with what I got), walking again, back to work, and planning a re-do trip.

SO......It could always be worse, things will always get better, and it's just stuff. Still sucks the OPs is going to take so long to repair:(
Damn! Glad you are on the road to recovery! That could of been much worse based on the picture!

So it was just the left front? I see suspension and maybe an axle but I don't see how that's 32 days of work. Definitely could have been worse.
It's a pretty massive job. Will 99% need a new front axle assembly in addition to pretty much everything on that left front corner. Plus the oil filter is suspect.

Wouldn't be surprised if the vehicle sat a week or two for parts then sits another week before the tech gets around to getting it in as they're most likely slammed

Did it total the CRV? I hit a Honda civic that was dead stopped in the fast lane with my gladiator crumpled that Honda like a soda can. There was a Hyundai I front of that. I think the Honda hit the Hyundai first but the ? lied about it. And they said the Hyundai was also totaled. 700 dollars to replace the factory steel bumper including about 2 hrs time to replace

Glad you're ok. It doesn't look bad honestly but would definitely push for a new front axle. Its more than likely a little bent already and can lead to trouble down the road.

I did the EXACT same thing (CRV as well) and ended up with less than $100 in damage (scratched bumper bezel). I guess I was lucky.

Looks like the frame was the last thing they were waiting on. Hopefully everything goes well when they put it back together.

Supposed to be done today but they're still waiting on parts. They told me they received the wrong axle twice but should have everything by this Friday.
