People use to think that about the Korean brands, too. Not so much anymore.
China and South Korea are vastly different. One is a communist chithole filled with slave labor and corporate IP theft, one is a democracy that follows established laws and trade norms.

Be that as it may, Warren Buffet invested in BYD, a Chinese EV auto maker, and has done quite well in that investment.

I work for a company that manufactures in the US and also imports the same type of products from China. Their quality is excellent.

I wouldn't underestimate them.

I think people are less AFRAID and are just being more HESITANT.
I was being provocative but point taken. I happen to think the PHEV technology is a much better current bet than full EV. I'm also the first to admit I'm the center target 4xe demo- short commute, mostly urban. I also leased it...as a hedge.

Of course, Walmart is also a GREAT investment. Cheap chit sells. Always has. Buffet has no conscience - only knows one thing - money. Him investing in something does not make it good.

Don't own a 4Xe, I own a '22 3.6, which so far has been flawless.
Don't get me wrong, I love Jeeps, but being one of the lowest quality rated manufacturers for decades, there's no way I would buy something with that level of complexity from Jeep. The 4Xe folks won't like hearing that, but facts are facts.

And the fact that korea had to come out with a 10 year unlimited mile warranty so anyone would buy them. Most are on their 2nd engine by 100k.

This is one of the main reasons EVs cannot replace gas vehicles.
I deal with enough entitled douchebags on the road I don't need to get involved with the EV idiots too. That picture is rage inducing and it doesn't even affect me at all.

Sounds like most American makes, but with those you're SOL at 60k on most.

At least with China entering the market American cars will no longer be the least reliable on the road LOL

I owned a 4xe that was lemon-lawed with <900mi and decided to buy an out-of-warranty 3.6 instead, because in the end I had bought the Jeep to learn to wrench and I didn’t want to do that with the hybrid powertrain… that may require more often visits to the desler for warranty fixes.

That said - this applies to just me. If you get one of the good 4xe’s, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it plenty. It feels more planted on the road and the less frequent visits to the gas station are a huge convenience I do miss. If you get one of the bad ones… don’t make my mistake and lemon-law it at once (it took me 5-6 months from beginning to end of the process!).

It's not only the EV people, the ICE people block the chargers also, but at least the EV people should know better.

The EV charging depends on social cooperation, but there are a lot of dicks out there.

I leased a 23 4xe last summer. I love it so much, I'll probably buy it once interests rates come down. The 4 banger is a bit rough at low rpms, and how the back seats fold are really the only bad things I can think of. Oh, and the weight is rough in the sand
