Does anyone else have issues with their windshield washer fluid freezing? The fluid froze over at 18 degrees and stopped spraying. It started spraying again after warming up in the garage. I'm using Rain X 2 in 1 that is supposed to be good to -25. I don't believe I have that much residual delivery fluid.

@Rhinozeroone

Well, if the "fluid froze" up at 18 degrees, then your -25 degree washer fluid is dropping the ball, so to speak.... OR...
Is there:

Any chance it was just the nozzle openings that got plugged by ice, and the washer fluid was prevented from exiting the nozzles..

Any chance you had no run enough -25 degree fluid through the system and your old Summer washer formula you were using, was still in play..

I'm using very cheapo -20 fluid. This Am it was -5 here and with wind chill way lower and my washer is working just fine.

Mine froze over the last 2 days too while in the -15 to -25 range, Clearly they use too much water to mix than solvent.

I can see your's freezing... For fluid rated at -25 to freeze at a mere, 18 degrees is an issue...

is the fluid in the reservoir freezing or just at the nozzles?

Did you completely use up your old washer fluid or did you mix it?

I did mix it after the low washer fluid warning came on. I did use up quite a bit of the fluid before actually filling it. After warming the Jeep up, I sprayed over a minute front and rear. I think just the nozzles are freezing and I could believe the moisture clogging the nozzles.

I have the same fluid in our other vehicles without issue but admittedly they have had multiple refilling of the Rain X. I guess I need to find better fluid.

Thank you all.

Guys/Gals: aside from cost (which is certainly a good reason) is there a downside to running the winter more alcohol based windshield wiper fluid all year?

I appreciate some of us, like off roaders, may go through this stuff like candy on Halloween.

I am sorry. I should have looked this up first:

The short answer is that no, not all windshield washer fluids are the same. Those formulated for summer use contain ingredients which help make windshields easier to clean during the bug season. Those formulated for winter contain more methyl hydrate to prevent freezing.
