I remember the 58 plymouth Christine did something like that. It may be possessed!

I do think my Jeep is possessed just like Christine.

It has been very intermittent. It first did it while I was in the construction on 95 and the jeep was bouncing around. I thought it was a loose wire, maybe a cannon plug half in on the back of the unit. They never pulled my UC out and spent the whole time sending software codes back and forth with corporate. We will find out if there is a loose wire on Monday when they install the new unit. Hopefully they will send my old one back to FCA to see if there is anything messed up with it.

I have a Surface Pro that has those same phantom touches on the screen. They claim its a bad screen. Hope this is something else.

Picked up my jlu Thursday night. 80 miles later the media center just keeps cycling off and on even with jeep off!

I’m the guy that has been dealing with it for three weeks. My video is posted in the issues compilation sticky. You are the fourth person I’ve heard it happen to. Corporate has ordered me a new unit and I’m waiting on it to come in. Tell your dealer there is a FCA Star case on the issue, they were expecting more cases.
Mine just cycles off and on

If you send a PM with your VIN and mileage to the Jeep Cares staff (you can find them in the general section) they will verify that your dealer has opened a Star case on it. They have been watching my UC case and another one for my trailer wiring. Sounds like corporate just needs to ship you another UC

I picked up my JL yesterday and the system was working fine yesterday and this morning. This afternoon it started to reboot every 30 seconds or so. I called Uconnect up and they said they know about the issue and there is a problem with their satellite that started yesterday , and there will be an update done tomorrow that should fix it,if not they are doing another update tomorrow. I told them I heard this was happening before and she said ti was a software issue before. I'm not saying that I believe them, but that's what they said, so according to Uconnect, this is a known issue with Uconnect and not a Wrangler issue, but time will tell.

I can't turn the system off, it just stats and stops on it's own

That makes no sense, how does a satellite cause a system in your jeep to reboot. My system worked perfectly today. If it’s rebooting or freaking out it is probably something to do with the UC box itself. I never called Uconnect on mine, only dealt with my dealer and then corporate.

I don't disagree, I'm just quoting what I was told. The dealer hadn't heard of this issue and I'm trying to find some way to get this working, it's the weekend and it's hard to get any support on this

Sorry to hear of these problems. I guess it was only a matter of time before we receive regular updates to our operating systems, cell phones and now our vehicles.

ie. Hitting the "Start" button to get "Please wait... update in progress" on the info screen.

I understand completely. I’m going on week 4 and it has been very frustrating. I’m scheduled to get my new unit on Monday which I had asked for on day one. I have felt better that my dealer, the corporate engineers and now the Jeep Cares ladies have been involved. I’m glad that they put this really cool computer screen in a vehicle that the roof comes off. I anticipated some hiccups with it and know that they will eventually get them worked out.
