Sounds to me like your first mistake was buying an iPhone. If you bought a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, not only would you have a better quality camera, you would also probably not have any issues with uconnect.

I myself am a Motorola guy. Or whatever is cheapest! Currently running the Motorola G100. Got it on Amazon for $400, and it's specs are comparable to a iPhone 13 Max Pro and the Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra, except you know, $800 less. It pays to shop around. Also no issues with uconnect, but that's Android for you.
True but then you have a couple of bigger problems. First you’re a green bubble and second, you are stuck with an Android phone. ?

I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra and previously had a Galaxy S22 Ultra. They both had the same issue with the center console USB port as his iPhone.

...First you’re a green bubble...
I never understand this complaint from Apple users.

(An excerpt from my wife and I's conversations today)

No green bubble. Even then, I have the option to change the text bubbles to whatever colors I want them to be, without having to download a third party app to do so. One of the things that I love about Android phones is that you actually have control over your phone.

Honestly I've had an iPhone 5s, 8S, and an XR, and I've also had a LG 90, LG v20, Moto G7 power, and my current Moto g100.

I think the biggest difference between iPhones and Android phones is control. On iPhones you don't actually have control over your phone. Some guy at Apple decides what you should have control over on your phone. Apple pay, it came installed on your phones before you bought it. You cannot uninstall it even if you will never use it. Google wallet came installed on my phone before I bought it. I uninstalled Google wallet on day one. I have access to all of my system apps, I can't delete all of them for obvious reasons. But I can force stop them if I chose to, I don't know why you would, but you can. That's the real difference between Android and Apple, on Android you control your phone, on Apple your phone controls you.

Sure, you can change the color of your bubble on your phone but we will all still know you are a green bubble. You could stick a Jeep logo on a Suzuki Samurai but it still wouldn't be a Jeep.

Try rebooting your phone.
LOL- ty, that’s been done as well as a hard reset of the JEEP.
Was not an issue w/ my previous IPHN - seems to be w/ the 14 PM, Jeep and Uconnect- but some are also saying just the middle plug. I’m still researching - ty

Are you using it with the Bluetooth or plugged in?
Plugged in - center plug - trying front plug per responses to see if that solves the issue - TY

I know this is crazy, but check out this post:

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...sole-usb-car-play-issues.106440/#post-2229332

I've had 3 Jeeps in the past 9 years and didn't have any issues with CarPlay from the centre console in the first 2. In January, I traded the last one in, unplugged the cable and phone from the console USB and moved over to the new 2023, plugged everything back in and didn't even get home from the dealership before CarPlay would freeze/disconnect.

That's when I started following multiple Jeep forums; I tried a new Apple cable,USB-A to USB-C adapter and wireless Carlink kit (and various combinations of these) but while I could get it to work for maps/music, phonecalls would kill it. The dash USB's (USB-A and USB-C) always worked fine but I'm not a fan of a cable wound around the front of the Jeep.

So, I bought exactly the USB adapter and cable in the post above and it's been working for the past few weeks. Who knows why.

Oh, and the dealership says there must be something wrong with my phone.

As stated before...need to use an official "Apple" lightning Cable (either USB or USB-C) and I am plugged into the dash connection and have not had any issues since changing to an "Apple" cable.
