Uconnect 8.4 Screen Delamination

Just realized this was happening to me. I thought it was the screen protector and, once removed, can clearly see it’s the screen. Epic timing as I’m 2 months out of warranty ?‍. Called customer cares today and they’re “escalating to a specialist.” We’ll see how this plays out - there’s no reason this should happen so soon (loads of electronics and I’ve not seen this happen to a single one).

@JeepCares my 8.4" display has the same issue. The top left hand corner has started to de-laminate. I am out of warranty, with over 48k miles on my JLUR. I haven't visited a dealership regarding this issue. I take excellent care of my Jeep and should not have this problem. Please advise. Thank you.

You can still buy a Mopar Max Care warranty if your drive train warranty has not expired. The Max Care would cover it. I think it's something like a $2K head unit?

call customer care and get it escalated to the uconnect team - they may be willing to assist.

For what it’s worth, I had Mopar screen protector for 3 years and didn’t have that craziness…yes the 8.4 screen is delaminating but the screen protector didn’t do what happened to the other guy. I don’t think that’s a common problem (or I just got lucky)

That de-lamination had nothing to do with the Mopar screen protector used.

Crazy. I was able to buff out all that delimitation garbage with a soft cloth and invisible glass cleaner. I think the delimitation was funky coating they put on to make the screen a bit glossy. It has more of a flat look now rather than glossy. BUT LOOKS GREAT NOW.. see hardy..see photos.

Also added a front camera. Love it can you see where I put it rather than in my grill. I can now see everything I can not see from the drivers seat
