Something that I still find ironic is that the extended warranty sales rep used the replacement of the screen as the cost justification example.
Are they using a known product family defect to make policy up sales? This screen issue is not limited to the Jeep logo. This isn’t the same thing as planned obsolescence.
Yep, same here, even though I didn't need to be sold, as I had specifically asked for the warranty. I know the extended warranty will cover it, but I was just outside the regular warranty so I'm hoping to avoid the $200 deductible, especially on a common and well known flaw.

@JeepCares Just before my warranty expired last month, my 8.4-inch screen started to delaminate in the upper left-hand corner. I take really good care of my Jeep, so this is really disappointing. Do I have any options for getting a free or discounted replacement? Obviously, this is a known issue and the units are defective. Any assistance would be much appreciated!

I'm having the same trouble. I was at 38k miles and less than 3 years when I noticed it. Dealer tried and FCA regional rep denied the warranty claim. Dealer is trying to push it through again. This is a well known problem and they should be standing behind it and fixing it. We'll see what happens, but I agree. Disappointing.

We had the same issue supposedly due to heat from living in Houston. Had it replaced today under extended warranty and they charged us $65 as deductible. I thought it was a $200 deductible but whatever its fixed. Only issue is that FCA did not redesign this part. Its the same exact part so its possible that it could happen again. I guess its a Jeep thing lol
I just had mine replaced and the dealer said the new 8.4's made after 2020 had a better face and should not delaminate

I hope that's the case but usually it's a new part number if they update it. Got mine redone and it was the same part number.

I've not heard of anyone who got a replacement having it happen again, so I think it was widespread and known enough that the OEM supplier has made necessary changes. Time will tell, though. I'm waiting patiently for my replacement.

Quick question for those who have had a replacement....Did you have to get a whole new unit that required a new Sim card/phone number? I'm just wondering if I'm going to have to re-do my wifi plan with AT&T.

My screen started delaminating last summer and now it is causing phantom touching. The screen is pretty much unusable when this starts to happen!

Well, the dealership that started my warranty claim canceled the claim after 3 months and didn’t notify me. I have been waiting since January. I opened a new claim at a different dealership That also told me it was a covered item on my warranty.
My screen has now delaminated across the entire top about 1” It goes berserk for a couple minutes until it warms up after being turned on.

Go to @JeepCares. They helped me a ton with this. Clearly there is a major defect on some of these. It seems widespread on 18 and 19 JLs but not on some other, older model year FCA vehicles with 8.4 screens.

Go to @JeepCares. They helped me a ton with this. Clearly there is a major defect on some of these. It seems widespread on 18 and 19 JLs but not on some other, older model year FCA vehicles with 8.4 screens.
My 2018 Rubicon started to delaminate and the dealer ordered me a new unit and within a week I was on the road with a new unit. Don't take NO for an answer.
