Uconnect 8.4 screen bleed

I recently upgraded the 7 inch radio to a 2022 8.4 inch unit and found the screen bleed quite noticeably from the top corners. Is this normal?

Happens with usage. Looks like original owner never set it to a lower brightness in its use. Your lucky they did not use the off road page or media page all the time. I usually turn the brightness way down and turn off display when I use my phone. You need to do both else display off only turns on the black pixels to block back light and has nothing to do with backlight function. By turning off display your forcing all the pixels to normalize. It may help your display after time.

Thanks. I don't remember seeing that with my 7 inch and I didn't even know there is a brightness setting. This suppose to be a brand new unit so I was wondering whether it is normal for 8.4" ...

According to the folks at Infotainment.com, FCA changed screen manufacturers after 2020 or so to address the delamination problems folks were having with the 2018-2019 UConnect units. For whatever reason, the newer radios all have much worse screen bleed.

That makes sense. The manufacture date of my unit is 01/22. At least I don't need to worry about delamination, right?
