Assuming I need to use JScan to change a setting? The Jeep will not let me engage the lockers in 2wd. Or I am dumb :asshat:
I was able to do donuts just fine without engaging the locker but with a tazer I can engage the rear locker in two wheel drive.

From the manual:
The “Full Off” mode is intended for off-highway or off-road use only and should not be used on any public roadways. In this mode, TCS and ESC features are turned off. To enter the “Full Off” mode, push and hold the ESC OFF button for five seconds while the vehicle is stopped with the engine running. After five seconds, a chime will sound, the ESC OFF Indicator Light will illuminate, and the “ESC Off” message will display in the instrument cluster. To turn ESC on again, momentarily push the ESC OFF button.

From the manual:
Thanks for checking the manual. Unfortunately, that did not help. If I hold the button for 5 - 10 seconds, nothing special happens. If traction control is on or off and I hold the button for an extended time (some amount of time longer than 10 seconds) it chimes turns traction control on, then makes the button useless for about 1 minute.

Have you tried it with OR+ on ? Worth a try, maybe a new “safety” feature.

Off road plus only works in 4wd. I guess I could try 4wd donuts tomorrow when it's icy. The snow is starting to melt already today and it's beer 30.

Another thought- NoLimitz JL “ Disables torque management system/traction control” among it’s features. 🍻 $275

Seems a bit pricey to do some 2wd donuts when it ices once every few years. I would definitely get one of these if I had a 392 though. :jk:

$275 was dirt cheap, PNP simple and doesn’t void the warranty, compared to the other MDS disable options. Everything else is just an added bonus. 😊
and on-off, a tune is permanently off

These things are so locked down it sucks. Honda has Hondata, GM has HP tuners. Is there a Jeep equivalent where we can fully tune whatever the hell you want? Not all these different "tuners" that have specifics that the others don't have. Just an all in one, warranty voiding, let me control my own vehicle thing?

Technically we do have HP tuners you just don't have it because your ECU isn't supported. Those of us with the older ECU do have full tuning capability.

Still prefer a tazer though because it lets me use steering wheel buttons to do things like the front and rear locker and the sway bar disconnect.

If you have a Rubicon it really is the best first mod you can do.

Jscan is the odd one out with a tazer you don't really need it but if you have Jscan a tazer still does more.

Yep- “Range Technology” makes OBD2 PNP plug in’s for GM and some Fords for MDS and other minor tuning. They had one for Hemi’s but it was discontinued. I have been watching since I found out I couldn’t turn it off like with my 15 GC. Upon stating my displeasure on the test drive I was told “they now take a mpg hit if you have the option to turn it off” …. Those with Start-Stop might take notice before a future purchase

Yep, my buddy is a HP tuner guru and was just looking into it for me. Not yet supported and it looks like even when it is you have to send in the PCM to them or pay 4 times as much just to buy a ready to tune one from them.

There are other places that do ECU unlocks so you don't have to send it to HP tuners. Some places that do tunes will include the price of the unlock with the tune so if you buy a tune from them it's no additional charge basically.

Ive not had the best of luck with it working, as well as swaybar disco in 2wd. Sometimes it works often it wont
Same! The sway bar disconnect hot button doesn’t work at all, ever. However, now my sway bar disconnects randomly while stopped. I have a love hate relationship with my Tazer.

I can’t complain. The main reason I got it is to “permanently” disable the ESS garbage.
