Has anyone else installed this that has the subwoofer? I saw someone already commented it wasn't that bad, just wondering if anyone else had an opinion.

Rear window of soft top fits perfectly between rear of seats and security deck. A little easier to maneuver if you slide off the tailgate bar and reattach to the Jeep.

The side windows kinda fit in that slim gap as well, but I’m probably going to keep them inside the locked area on top of whatever stuff I have in there. Attached pics have all three windows in the seat gap.

Would be cool if Tuffy made a bolt on attachment for the underside of the lid that clipped the windows to the top of the storage compartment. Probably wouldn’t be too difficult to DIY either. Just need a few long dowels or metal rods with plasti-dip secured to the lid, and you could load the windows with the curved plastic corners faced down along the left and right sides of the Jeep.
looking at getting one and these pics helped thanks. the soft top still works? and can be put down with the tuffy installed?

I have the subwoofer and the enclosure fit perfectly. One carriage bolt was missing, but Tuffy mailed me one quickly after I emailed them. The enclosure was the first thing I added to my Sahara when I brought it home from the dealer on the 26th. Real happy with the investment.

I have a 2018 JLU Sahara with Alpine Subwoofer. This Christmas I recieved the Tuffy JL Deck Enclosure for Alpine Subwoofer SKU# 345 as a gift from my lovely wife. Unfortunately, she was unaware that subwoofer wasn’t a standard option and actually requires the SKU# 351 version of the deck. Has anyone had any issue getting the appropriate piece for the subwoofer in exchange? Or will I have to return the whole package instead for an exchange? My wife explains she ordered directly from Tuffy. Thanks in advance for the help everyone.

I read this entire thread. It’s still not clear to me if the soft top (on a JLU) can be fully open and secured/locked into place AND have the Tuffy Box installed. Does anybody know if that is possible? I read along the way (different thread) that you could not actually clip/secure the soft top down when the box was installed. Pretty sure I read the box was slightly too tall to allow you to take your soft top down and secure it properly.

Did you ever find an answer? I have read some are having issues locking the soft top. Maybe, I’ll reach out to tuffy. I would love something like this, as I am always worried about things in my Jeep. However, the reviews are not that great on Quadratec and alike. Hope they address it...

Rear tailgate lockbox- yes, soft top goes all the way down and locks into place (95% sure on this, I’ll double check tonight)

Security deck - soft top goes almost all the way down, but not enough to be secured by soft top lock sliders. If left as-is, the soft top will bounce when you go over bumps. I usually leave it as-is for short trips around town, but for longer trips I use Velcro straps to cinch the soft top (like a premium cloth burrito), and to attach the arms of the soft top to the rear roll bars.

Of course, if you remove the top of the security deck, the soft top will once again rest below the top of the tailgate in the lockable position.

FWIW, having a locking, spacious trunk area is infinitely more useful then having a soft top that locks in the down position, especially since you can ‘lock’ the soft top in the down position with a few Velcro straps.

Hope this helps!

Guys

Just installed my security deck and dropped the top for the first time on my JL. The soft top did go down enough with the security deck to trigger the locking switches on the top mechanism hinge thingy.

The security deck was easy to install, looks good from the rear but I don't like how it's not flush with the inside of the trunk, looking from the top, towards the back of the deck or closer to the back of the rear seats.

Same issue here I discovered after installing my top yesterday but using the Diabolical Slipstream. The top will not lock in the folded position and I was wondering if the Tuffy had the same issue - I guess so!

Actually with the Tuffy, my soft top did go down enough to engage the locking switches on each side.

I ready your post too quickly! Glad the Tuffy works and lets the soft top lock.

Nope. Nope. Nope. My bad. I thought the locking switches engaged but the switch does go down but doesn’t lock the soft top in the down position. Sorry for the confusion. Still learning about the new ride. I resorted to using Velcro straps to secure the soft top in the down position. Not ideal but it works.

Do you guys have any pictures of the soft top and where it’s hitting the deck? I’m curious how far off it is from being able to lock the soft top down with the deck.
