So after getting my Rubicon broken into I just finished installing a Tuffy Security Deck. Got the one for the Alpine speaker. Super easy to put together, fit and finish is awesome, and the peace of mind is priceless. Still waiting for a replacement back glass because of all the people having issues with their rear defrosters, but I'll be all set once it arrives.

That was the first thing I put in my Sahara when I got it at the end of 2018. It allows me to carry my emergency equipment under the cover and use the cover for carrying cargo when needed.

Did you leave it as is? Was thinking about having Line-X spray the lid so I could put things like an ice chest on it without it sliding around.

I bought the modular gear anchors, but haven’t mounted them yet. I also just bought some LED strip lights I plan on adding to the lower edge of the lid for light when I’m accessing the under lid storage.

How long and how much is it an effort to take the covering lid and middle panel out? In case you are car camping and want to fold rear seat downs and sleep inside, and want the entire space so two people can sleep?

The lid will just slide off, and the back panel would come off pretty quickly if you substituted wing type nuts for the regular ones that come with it.

In that case, tuffy it is pretty “modular”, which is how diabolical is advertised. Any one here having experience with both, is there any added advantage to diabolical, which is $300 more?

Mine had all nylon lock nuts, i got the wing nuts from my local Ace Hardware. Makes it nice if they are including the wing nuts now. I love mine. Gives you a place to store items with the top off.

I have a 2018 for about a year now. just installed tuffy box, all wing nuts and super tight fit to back seat I had recline kit in and it still locked in, although I removed recline since im having work done at dealer for front seat warranty issue and dont want any excuses. Coating could be a little thicker and definitely need a QC check my weather strips were applied terribly
