So I got this installed this weekend. Liking it over all for what I need it for. My only concerns are the rattle noise and the powder coat finish, they did reply to me looking into the PC.

Thanks for all the pics. Their website says the lid is easily removable without tools. How easy/quick is it to remove the lid. I want this for security with the top off but live in a wild fire area in California and if I need to evacuate, I need to get the lid off quick and get the dog kennel in and bug out.

Its suppose to lift up about 20 degrees , slide and pop off... Kind of works like that. But also if you have a hard top you would be able to stand it straight up like your hood and fit a cage I would believe.

Did you have any issues installing the top part? Mine moves all over the place and is not sliding in

It was a pain in the ass and takes 2 people for sure. But once locked in, it does not move. All in all not super impressed with this thing for the price.

I found out, after fighting with mine, that the weather seal on the front of the lid needs to be removed before the lid is installed. apparently it's much easier after doing that. I didn't know it and basically forced it on... Another user told me that after talking to the company on the phone about installation. Apparently they realize that now and don't install the seal before shipping.

@4LowPhoto the rattle is the lid prop rod against the side of the trunk. I placed the brim of my floppy hat between the prop rod and the trunk and everything is quiet.

It looks like the finish (powder coat/paint) is not very durable, are those scratches on yours? Would it be possible to glue a liner/carpet to the inside and the outside of the top?, the vinyl diamond plate does nothing for me...

Yes the finish is a super light powder coat :-/ I cut an old rubber truck bed mat for the top and inside on the floor. works great.

Can you fit the freedom panels in the back with the rear wall on?
I want to make/buy an enclosure so I can secure stuff with the top off. However, I'd still like to be able to take my freedom panels with me in case I want to put them back on. I don't wan't to leave them unsecured in the back and this would be a nice way to keep them safe. I know in the bag they only fit standing up, but you can fit the panels laying flat (without the bag) in the cargo area. Is this still possible with the Tuffy Enclosure?
I'm wondering because I know it's close to begin with, which is why they won't fit with the bag. The back wall looks like it is vertical rather than angled like the back seat, so I wonder if there's enough room to lay the panels flat.

The freedom panels don't fit inside the tuffy security enclosure with the front panel or lid on unfortunately

Well crap, I guess it's the $800 slipstream, or a custom enclosure. Thanks for the quick response.

You could consider the Bestop sunrider or whatever it's called. Then you don't have to worry about the panels.....!
