This thread is a bit stale but it is closely related to this thread Hot Transmission | Page 6 | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) - Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, 4xe, 392 - JLwranglerforums.com
There was a part change to the part called the "heater" on the transmission. It functions to pre-heat the transmission fluid by routing engine coolant through a small heat exchanger with a thermostatic valve body. The newer part eliminated the thermostatic valve so you just get full flow of the fluid through the heat exchanger all the time. (Evidently, there were enough issues with the thermostat sticking that FCA eliminated it) However, there is a transmission cooler in front of the a/c condenser as well.
