So last Sunday I was charging some RC batteries and fell asleep and forgot about the battery, when all of a sudden my Wife smelled a burning smell. I ran to the garage to find it on fire and filled with Thick Black Smoke.. and my half naked Jeep sitting in the middle.. we got the kids and the dog and got out of the house. Firefighters came right away and put out the fire. Thank god nobody was hurt and we still have our home.......but I’m pretty sure I lost my Jeep

you peeps tell me what ya think..

Seriously, good to hear no one was hurt. Cars and property can be replaced. Hopefully your insurance takes care of you.

Perfect timing to order a new 2021!

Good Luck.

Doesnt look like too much is burnt. New bumper, rear lights, maybe a couple of other superficial things. You will probably want to replace the seats and carpet, because of the smoke damage. The rest just looks like soot from the Fire hoses putting out the fire, and knocking ash all over the place. Lots of cleaning.
Not totaled.

I voted not totalled as a joke. I think it's definitely totaled. The electrical system is toast. The water damage alone would probably justify totaling it. The excessive heat probably did plenty of hidden damage also.

They are designed to survive a down pour here and there and the tub has removable plugs so it can be hosed out. I would be very surprised if the insurance company did not total it. The risk and possibility of future problems from extreme heat and water is unknown. I would think items like airbags and airbag sensors are possibly compromised. I don't think a insurance company would want that liability? Maybe I am wrong? Personally I would fight it if the insurance company refuses to total it. Or ask for diminished value and trade it. No way I would keep it. That's just me though. Hopefully the OP is treated right and gets it taken care of to his expectations.

Then there is the question of warranty? I doubt FCA will warranty that VIN after this claim.

$ to donuts, that JL is totaled... again it is totaled Pics, cursory eval...does not reveal, the melted wires, melted plastics, melted cam, melted bumpers, paint damage, wipers, lights, melted this and melted that, etc... Not to mention heat/smoke damage to the seats, filters, electronics ... smoke damage, etc..

If I were you, I would want it totaled. A family member’s garage/shop burned. His Dodge pick up was outside. The visible damage was a little blistered paint. It was repaired but it rusted severely after that. Hope the insurance takes care of you.

OP…might be too soon to say but are you considering a different model, engine, color, options, upgrades if it's totaled? And please…not a mention of a certain 4x4 from Ford! lol!
