And this is just one of the reasons I run a dash cam.
I got one as a “dad gift” from my family back when I first got my license. Thought it was stupid until now. Definitely going to be hooking it up into my new jeep.

He didn’t put a claim or anything in until like Saturday I put mine in right away and they were just waiting on him and all his stuff he keeps dragging this out and I think he knows someone in the police department or something because they screwed up the police report badly too. Everything is fishy about this dude and whole situation.
Just let your insurance handle the claim…never fun, but let them handle matters. I am wondering if Amazon has any responsibility for its hired drivers. It would seem they have an obligation to make sure their drivers have insurance.

I would hope and pray for that. But who knows people are crazy these days.

This isn’t a one size fits all answer: for their independent contractors They require proof of insurance and, typically, state and/or federal filings from their drivers. Their contracts carry an indemnification clause that the driver is solely responsible to reimburse and defend Amazon in the event of an accident. Amazon’s insurance only kicks in after the drivers policy is exhausted, since it doesn’t appear that will happen here, they will never be involved in this loss. In fact, it would be the driver’s insurers responsibility to get a release for Amazon as an omnibus insured (vicariously liable) if a release was required, such as in the event of an injury.
