To wait or not to wait for the refresh?

Should I buy the 392 as is or hold for mid cycle refresh?

Hello,
I have a hold on a 2022 black 392
. The 392 is on its way to Germany and it has almost every option except the recon package. I am buying thev392 through military car sales, so if it gets here in (September - October) and I don't like it, I can get my deposit back. However, after seeing the prices go up, I think it's a good deal and should pull the trigger. My quote for everything is $85,114.50 tax free. My biggest problem is if I should wait for the refresh...but it seems like it's probably not happening this year. Also it doesn't have the XR option. Should I really be concerned by not having the XR option?

If you wait for a refresh, the 392 will most likely no longer be made! And as you said, the price will continue to increase. Get it as soon as you can. XR would be nice, but regear (about $1800 installed per quote) and tires ( or wait until needed when no extra cost) probably covered by the price increase alone if you wait very long.

Makes sense. I only plans on having 315's Or maybe 35s. Do I still need to regear?

If you plan on driving it in Germany I wouldn't regear it. The Germans get super picky about modified vehicles. If you're involved in an accident and the vehicle is modified chances are you'll be found at fault. That happened to a coworker's son while I was over there. Just my two cents.
How's your experience with MAS? I've been working with them ordering a Rubicon Unlimited. I've had to double check everything.

The guys here are solid here. This is my third vehicle with them.
2008: Harley crossbones
2019: Jeep Rubicon unlimited
2022: Jeep Rubicon 392?
I appreciate your insight and advice.

I‘d say try to get a ‘23 with XR package. But like others have said, I highly suspect ‘23 will be the last year for the 392.

Members have run 37’s on 392’s with no problem but lose a step in performance. Needed-no, better- yes.

I’d buy now. Who even knows if they are going to do a refresh. The only reason the JK got one is because how hideous the interior was when it launched.

The XR package will have a top speed limited at 110 mph and a top speed limited at 97 mph without the XR package.

Reportedly a great tire but 71lbs and would increase performance loss over lighter 315’s ( Goodyear wrangler territory MT-52lbs) without regear , also require spare reinforcement but you will likely need spare relocation anyway but Mickey T’s at just 34 in may not ( fun-isn’t it ?)edit- 34.5 in likely need relocation. Yep-it’s that close, consensus is 3.15’s fit plastic bumper, don’t fit steel bumper. I’m working on this presently. Rough Country relocation plate (~$80) delivered yesterday. I got the short one for vehicles without sensors not the tall one for sensors due to reports of no sensor issues, but waiting for back ordered part before install. The tall one raises tire 4.75in effectively blocking rear window, short one 2.25in, Again- Fun, isn’t it?
