Looking for advice.
I have been using a set of Res-Q tire automatic deflators to get my tires aired down but the problem is that they take forever to deflate to 12 pounds (37's). My buddy shows up with a Thor's Lightning and aired down 2 jeeps before mine could get half way. So now I'm calling and looking for the correct fittings to make that work and discovered the Trailhead automatic deflators. I am being told those are fast and will air down in about 5 minutes.
Has anyone here had experience with both, to verify they are quicker than the Res-Q (from Quadratec)?
Thank you.

You mean he pulls out a four way and just blows it open? Sounds like a PITA compared to just running auto deflators to me.

I can't imagine there is a huge difference between auto deflators, your still closing the valve with a spring set at the psi. I run some amazon specials and haven't had any issues.

Worse case, just drive down the trail and pull them before it gets rocky enough to take one out.

You hook up all four tires to this thing and open it up. The air rushes out of all 4 through the center air fitting. When you close it, it shows you the tire pressure of all four as it regulates it the same on all four. Cool system but I am trying to keep from having to buy another expensive thing if the Trailheads work quicker.

I have cheap Amazon defectors, I went through the trouble of setting the pressure.

After using it a couple times I just decided to go wide open with the deflators and watch the gauge in the jeep.

I then scramble around to unscrew them before I go too low! It’s a sight I’m sure but it works and is fast.

Yeah, I run a DIY four way to air up, but don't screw with it to deflate.

I'm around $100 in it for parts. Flexzilla 1/4" hose, 1/4" barbs, normally closed chucks, block/guage/valve.

If you want to price compare, you could also look at Speedflate. Same system. I have one and it's probably one of my favorite off-road tools. I use it for both airing up and down. Biggest benefit is that it equalizes automatically (due to the design). So when I put the caps back on, all 4 tires are the same PSi.

I use it in conjunction with a VIAIR 400p on my 33's and it works great.

There is no way that I am hooking up my MorrFlate to air down. I connect my Stauns, get my Jeep ready; which is putting the recovery gear within reach of the driver's seat, firing up my Inreach, sending a message that I am about to start, fire up ON-X and get a drink out of the fridge and by the time I am done, so are the tires.

I use one of those deflators that's a pressure gauge that lets you remove the valve core. Fast and accurate. I used to use a set of those cap types, but they were slow.

Similar to this one

I have that as a backup but it stinks for a regular use on once you get old enough that you don't want to bend over and your knees hurt if you squat.

I'm a pleb in my Sahara, so I usually hook up the Speedflate to deflate the tires and let them run down while I wrestle with the sway bar disconnects.

Haha you think you're a pleb? I deflate mine by hand - either with the back of a tire pressure gauge, a pebble, or my finger
