I have a new-to-me 2019 JLU with the silver 17X7.5 rims. At this time I do not want to modify the Jeep in any way; no lift, no cutting, etc.
To my eye the current 245/75/17 tires look far to small for the wheel openings. How tall can i go before I start to experience rubbing or other issues? I am not interested in monster tires; I was thinking maybe 33"
My use case is as follows: I live in a somewhat unique place; an island off the coast of Massachusetts. Our highest speed road is 45MPH, we have no highways, and we like to drive on the beach as often as possible. The island is somewhat more temperate then the mainly; we rarely get snow. We do get a fair share of rain, however. So I would like a tire with the following if possible: good in beach sand, able to be aired down to ~15psi (sidewall thickness/strength), and good on-road manners. It is currently our only vehicle so I need to balance the off vs on-road capabilities.
