Hi, I have a 2015 2D Jeep Wrangler with a ticking engine, that increases with acceleration. I fear its the rocker arms/lifters, what should be my next step in getting this fixed if this is the issue, without getting taken advantage of? I know nothing of car/truck mechanics. Thank You

first thing I would do is change the oil and cut the filter and check the pleats for signs of metal...how many miles on your vehicle? find a trusted independent repair shop if you don't have the ability to do it yourself..check google for reviews..maybe take a recording and post it.

Probably finding a group of jeepers like a club, joining and getting advice from locals is likely to get better results on finding an honest shop.

Google Ai pulled up this.

May want to start by checking the oil level. If its low it will tick.
What engine, 3.6, 3.7, harbor freight two stroke?

Happy to help, look at the easy stuff first.

The 3.6 in the JK is almost always a failed roller/rocker. If you don't have a check engine light yet for a misfire, you may be able to save it before it eats your camshaft up. Tons of videos on Youtube showing this repair, it's relatively easy. Just do the damaged roller rocker if your camshaft is fine, lifters are usually fine but many people replace everything while they are in there anyways.

I have approx 83000 miles on it, I just had the oil/filter changed, i am not sure if they unfolded the pleats to check. It appears that I and anyone that i ask does not know a trusted/good mechanic. lol. But I will check out a mechanic near me that has many good ratings. I called a different mechanic and they said they could check it out, but when i was further inquiring about the problem, they said they will put a jasper engine in it. I didnt want that.

Thank you, I will check again. I am not sure what size engine is in it. :)
