I ordered my Rubicon JLU on 02/03/18 and my dealer called this morning
He received a ship date of 02/23/18
He says it should be at the dealership around 03/01
Now it’s getting real

Doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to these builds. I ordered on 1/19, Jeep chat says I went D1 around 2/1 and no updates since. I don’t even show up as D1 on the Jeep garage tracking. Oredered too late to get on the tracking here, but assume it’s similiar. JLU Sahara fully loaded.

What gives?

I think a lot of it has to do with the models and the options.

Northridge4x4 ordered theirs back in Oct. We've been sitting around twirling our thumbs watching everybody else get theirs weeks ago, yesterday we were told it was the color matched red hardtop that delayed our build.

If we had just went black hardtop....

Once you reach D1 don’t they have all the parts for the build? I also have a dual top painted ((granite)

The Rubi I ordered has everything but the smokers package
Color is Billet Silver with painted fenders and black top
For all I know they might have been in the process of building it before I even placed my order

I ordered 1/12 Rubi with options automatic, LED, Tow, Infotainment, dual top, Headliner, and floor mats. It is built but is pending for 3 days now optional equipment being installed and asked could it be done and possibly ship next week they said it can stay in the current status for up to 2 weeks!

Does anyone know how they actually build as far as color goes
I assume they run multiple build lines so they can run all one color per line for a few days
Then after so many days change over to different colors on each line
I have never seen an assembly plant so I’m guessing...anyone know for sure
That would explain how some guys get their orders quicker than others
I never would guessed 3 weeks from order date to ship date on my Rubicon

Just had to find a random thread to proclaim D1 status! Dealer sending my VIN today and said from what they hear it should have February build date.

Interesting he noted shipping can fluxuate this time of year due to weather. I didn't think much about that, but it makes sense. Hopefully mine hits the line soon so I get the ship & arrival dates!

That ship date is within a few days of your build date.

It will not ship on 2/23. It will start the build around then.

This is how it has been for essentially everyone in the tracking thread. Sorry to burst your bubble.

You definitely won't be receiving it the beginning of March. It will likely not even be KZ by then. Shipping in itself can take 1-2 weeks.

He has another order for someone else that was placed last week of Jan. And he says it will be on his lot last week of Feb.
We’ll see if he how’s what he’s talking about

He is incorrect.

Read through the tracking thread - Literally everyone's initial "ship date" has become their approximate build start date.

Your timeline isn't even feasible. Expect 6-8 weeks. Be happy if it shows up 30 days after your order date. There's only a few that have had their build happen that quick.

Some, like myself, get stuck in "I" and "JS" status for weeks on end without any explanation.

Ours is hauling ass through the process.

We ordered our Ocean Blue JLUR on 1-29 and it went to framing (E) on the 7th, as of today it's G (Trim) with a projected ship date of the 12th.

So. .. I'll keep you guys informed of what happens when you get a Friday / Friday night build. :/ Not the best build day for quality, but we'll see what happens. Damn me for spending 7 years at an assembly plant to see what really happens on Friday and Saturday's.

Edit: The dealers projected ship date when I got the VIN was the 12th.

Edit: 2 Just got an email from my guy stating that ours was fully built today, the 9th.
