So, I have some interesting news.

On Friday Jeep Chat told me April 6 was the magic day. I went by the dealer on saturday to get my deposit check back and guess what happened. My damn Jeep was there, got delievered at midnight Friday night.

The sales manager tracked my jeep just for fun and the system said it was in Ohio.

So it is official, they are shipping them and not scanning them anywhere along the path. Don't waste your time with jeep chat, the info is totally useless because you have no idea what's true and what isn't. Buy a magic 8 ball

Would you mind posting the last 6 of your VIN?

Ok, so Jeep corporate has ZERO clue on when and where your Jeep will be delivered once it leaves the line. After weeks and weeks of trying to get a solid answer from them, I get my MIA Jeep issue escalated within customer service. They call me back on Friday and say it's still sitting in Toledo, waiting to be picked up with an expected departure from Toledo on 4/4. This is for a Jeep that was off the line on 2/19! I said F it and kinda just threw my hands up in the air. Then, literally 30 mins after i hung up with Jeep corporate, the local dealer calls me and tells me my Jeep has been delivered!! The moral of the story is Jeep customer service and delivery is a complete mess and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Don't get me wrong, I like my Jeep, however the whole purchasing experience and dealing with @JeepCares customer service has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and kinda tainted my purchase .

Same here, I'll never order another one. I will only buy one off the lot if I do this again. Terrible buying experience from FCA corporate, they aren't even keeping their dealers informed.

Hi kablam0r,

I'm very sorry to hear you feel this way. You advised our team to look more into your order and we were working on that. A few days later you requested directions on how to cancel your order as we didn't have an update at that time. We would be more than happy to continue looking into this and consulting with the appropriate teams in an effort to locate your JL. We do appreciate you taking time out to share your feedback and hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

The problem with this reply is that it demonstrates there is no effort being made to resolve the global problem, namely an utter lack of accurate communication from FCA about our orders. We have agreed to shell out sometimes in excess of $50K on a vehicle, but continue to be given conflicting information (i.e. the runaround) about the status of our orders. And others, like me, are almost afraid to ask anymore because each time we do make an inquiry our ETA date gets pushed back another week or ends up in a "TBD" limbo status. I can personally tell you I'm pissed simply because I keep getting different information from my dealer and jeep chat. But the one thing that is consistent, is every time I ask the delivery date moves back further. If I had simply been told I'd need to wait 3 months, my expectations would have been managed a hell of a lot better. But I was told 4-6 weeks. And when you talk to Jeep Chat, they say its "In transit." Sitting in some parking lot in OH is not "in transit." Here is a suggestion how you can make a bunch of people who want to be positive about their jeep purchase feel better (or at least not pissed off enough to bitch to other potential buyers) about it:

1. Publicly state what the issues are that are delaying production and shipping;
2. Publicly state what the plans are to address those issues;
3. Be transparent about when various orders will be completed and delivered; and
4. Have some type of place (website would be best) where people can go to get accurate information on the status of their order, even if it is sitting in a parking lot and won't get on a train for 3 weeks.

This isn't hard. You'd think a company this size could afford a couple of tech nerds to set this up by now.

Yep, it's frustrating, for sure... Yesterday, I was told by Jeep Chat that my Jeep has shipped, with no ETA available. Today, I was told by Jeep Chat that my Jeep is being prepared for shipment, with no ETA... Well, which one is it? Has shipped, or is it being prepared to be shipped? I'm just trying to plan accordingly on my side... I don't mind waiting... Waiting is not the problem... I just want clarity, so that I can plan accordingly...

Yeah, something strange going on. Here she is, in Florida.
Must be the other John Scott who ordered a firecracker rubi from that dealer, lol! Crazy, but at least it was good news.

Enjoy...mine has no ETA but a couple weeks ago dealer stated it should be at their railyard this Thurs...so thank for getting my hopes up!

I concur with a previous contributor's suggestion to take the Order Tracking system with a "grain of salt."

According to Jeep Chat, my factory order is progressing in the opposite direction. So either the tracking system is off, or they have removed options from it to apply to rigs whose order date is older than mine! It's got from being in storage waiting for transport back to JB.

I am actually choosing to take this lack of accurate data as good news. In anti Murphy's Law fashion, the rig's probably on my dealer's lot right now!

But according to FCA, apparently my rig suffers from the same ailment as does the main character in the story "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button;" it's getting younger with time.

Seriously---when it gets her it gets here. People make valid points about our waits note being equivalent to being on the transplant organ list. But even THAT list has predictable cycles, as sadly the season for transplants is about to kick in high gear as people with organ donor cards sadly take their motorcycles out for that final ride during the warmer weather Spring brings.

It's the not knowing..the no explanation nor time frame that makes it hard for us to manage our own expectations short of "having zero expectations."

I noticed the nearby civic center has a new group meeting Wednesday Evenings for JL Waiting List Support Group Anonymous. Perhaps I shall attend.;)

I ordered mine 10 days ago and not yet in D1, is that odd? Judging by the boards I have nothing to complain about until I hit at least day 90.
