Laid down the front windshield to run the data cable for the Icom, and in the process realized all the clips holding on my Alien Sunshade were broken. Found a better fix on here than trying to find speciality clips from a no-longer-operating company...so I ordered some 8 inch bungee balls (tee hee hee 😂) from Uncle Jeff at Amazon, and replaced the broken clips.

Got a nice Father's Day gift from my family. A set of Rigid 360s, 4 inch Driving Light with red backlighting. Also got a set of clamp on Amber filters from Rigid for the times I'm in the snow, or dust.

For context, they are brighter than the Jeep LED high beams.

I wired the backlighting to the Aux 3, and the white lights to the Aux 2. This way, the Red lights are always on, and I didn't have to tap the factory wiring harnesses for the front lights.

Eventually I plan to add a set of 6 inch 360 Spots to the Cowl and will tap in the same way.

Well, I had the good ol factory battery die on me last week. I had warning signs when the TPMS would randomly cut out, and then the "Aux lights not available" warning would come up when I started it.

I replaced the factory battery with 2 Group 25 Optima Yellow Tops from AutoZone, and splurged on an @Genesis Offroad dual Battery Tray.

Installation is really painless, but I was not as smooth as he is in the video. Took me 4 hours, not 20 minutes.

Happy I can now hook up the winch, and (soon) air compressor to the Aux battery.

I also started on building out recovery gear. I've had a winch for a year and nothing else. Can't do much with a just a winch, so I added a Factor55 kinetic rope, tow rope, soft shackle, and Rope Retention Pulley.

I bought an AEV gear bag to stow it all in, and it all fits just great. I may add a tree strap and a few other odd and ends, but for the most part this is a solid bit of gear.

Looks good. I consider it YouTube x10. However long the YouTube video is just multiply by 10.

Removed the Rubicon Rock Rails in prep for installation of the @lodoffroad Signature Series Rock Sliders that have been sitting in my garage since March!

I'll start installation this weekend, but not today.

FINALLY got around to installing my @lodoffroad Signature Series Sliders on my Jeep.

The install videos on YouTube make this seem complicated, indicating that you have to loosen the body bolts. You do not.

They have updated the design and removal of body bolts is not required.

Looks great brother, I love these sliders, so much I made the commitment to weld them on so I could still use them with my long arm kit. RK and LOD both told me they wouldn’t work……your rigs looking great…..

I spent the entire afternoon fighting with putting together my ARB underseat dual compressor mount and dual compressor. I'm glad it will be under my seat, but DAMN is this thing a mess to put together. Instructions are crap, pictures are worse. No videos on YouTube. No wonder everyone takes their chances with the cargo area mount and under dash mount.

Took the JLUR in for a warranted transmission fluid leak on December 30, and remembered to ask about the rattle I sometimes hear under the hood.

Rev the motor to about 2500 RPM, and when it's warm, there's a bad rattle. When it's cold no rattle, when I use premium fuel, it's lessened.

Service Tech heard it, and immediately said "that's a cam /lifter problem, very common, and a known warranty issue".

Received confirmation on January 3, that the lifters had collapsed, and had worn down the cam, flooding the motor with metal shavings.

Local dealer submitted a Warranty claim for a new motor, that was finally approved today by Jeep.

Unfortunately, there is no timeline for delivery of the new motor, and due to "supply chain issues" it may be a week, or weeks, a month or months. No one knows.
