JUST RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!

Dear Scott, This is Andrew of Jeep Vehicle Care emailing back in regards to case # 33483663. What we were able to find out was that your vehicle was ordered with the Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top which will not be available until mid-March. At the moment your vehicle will sit in JB status until the part is available. We would encourage that you to contact us back in late-March for an update Scott. Thank you for contacting Jeep Customer Care. Please chat with us again if you need further assistance or Jeep Customer Care at 1-877-426-5337. You can also look for updates on our website www.jeep.com. Have a great day!

So then anyone who is at the JB stage or before are in the same boat!

It does. What a joke. They build hundreds without any supplies. My question would be where are these trucks sitting now for another month.
You would think they would order an adequate supply of the top going on most Jeeps....how many freaking Jeeps are going to be sitting there waiting for tops in a month!! Ship the damn things without the soft tops, and then send the soft tops later.

Agree totally. I mean how do they even take orders without supply??? Unless something went wrong with the first batch which is not good for the people who have it already!

The only thing that came to my mind when I read this is the scene from Ocean's 13 when the factory in Mexico had a "revolt" over like $36k. Don't feel bad, I am held up in JB for some other reason, so the premium top isn't the only thing holding things up.

Wow it helps to not sound like a fool in here.

Yeah but hopefully your holdup isn't until mid March!

I think we talked about this earlier in this thread. It now looks like vehicles with the soft top, or even just vehicles with dual top are back in JB. All these vehicles passed D1, which initially confirms that all parts required for manufacturing are available. I would conclude that the tops were available, but they discovered they have quality issues with a batch of soft tops. Or maybe just the ones boxed up for dual top?

If that is true, then I'm happy they discovered it early and I hopefully won't have to deal with a defective soft top when I install it. Annoyed of course that there is zero communication from Jeep or from my dealer.

If that's the case, I agree. It makes 100% sense. Their not going to build a vehicle with just 99% of the parts, there must have been a defect

According to the tracking from Jeep Garage, it seems my JLUR with dual tops (JB on 2/14) has gotten scanned into the facility multiple times. I wonder if each time is for a different add on like the headliner, tow, mats, etc? Funny thing is I really want the tan soft top, and finally gave in on 1/18 and ordered after my dealer said they would exchange the black for a tan. Live and learn I guess. With the benefit of hindsight I would go with just the hard top if I could do it again and pay more for the tan top when available, but I’m stuck in JB jail like all of my fellow JB prisoners. Here is my JB activity up till now:

Ingate / Rebay at Facility 02/14/18 09:59:00 PM TOLEDO, OH VDC
Ingate / Rebay at Facility 02/15/18 11:03:00 AM TOLEDO, OH VDC
Ingate / Rebay at Facility 02/19/18 10:41:00 AM TOLEDO, OH BODY_VEND

Well if there is a defect in the tops then of course we are glad. I can't imagine them not having the part but still produce the Jeep. Now that I have an answer I can kinda rest a little because I see the end. Not knowing was driving me crazy. I wonder, and I know they won't, but they should give priority on our JB prisoners and get them out asap.

They can't invoice until they ship, so they have a cash flow incentive to get rid of the backlog.

So all these jeeps are sitting somewhere without tops. Hopefully they are in a weather controlled building. If that is the case, it must be a big building

So your saying they will?
Well, I can't say what they will do, but if I ran that business I would clear my backlog first. a) all I need is to slide the boxed top in the back of the Jeep and I can invoice it b) it clears up my holding area, c) I'm just guessing, but dual top jeeps may be loaded, meaning they have the highest profit margin. Yeah, I would give those the priority.

So I think I broke the JB dual top myth. I was in JB since 2/8. Today went to KZ! Hallelujah! Ordered 1/11. EST delivery 2/23!
