It was just right timing, or wrong timing. Something happened with the soft tops and some of our Jeeps just got stuck in the middle. Pretty soon it’ll be all forgotten about!

I guess I just need to vent. But this whole process has been very frustrating. What makes it even more frustrating is when Jeep Chat gives completely contradictory information from one person to another. I ordered on 1/29 and fully expected a six to eight week wait. That's not a problem at all. The vehicle went to D1 almost immediately, sat there for a few weeks, and then went to JB a few weeks ago. It has not moved since. Clearly that is related to the soft top issue, which some Jeep Chat folks are willing to acknowledge and some are not.

This morning I logged in and requested a status update and was told: The soft tops are expected to come in mid-march, you can request an update at the end of March. First, on a purely customer service level, you're not going to tell me when I can and cannot request an update. Second, if the soft tops are expected mid-March, why would I have to wait until the end of March for an update? I posed the second question to her, as I don't think it's appropriate to badger online support individuals, and was told that they were advised that they wouldn't be able to give updates until the end of the month. This obviously doesn't make any sense, isn't consistent with reports from this Forum of people's vehicles leaving JB and going into delivery stages, and is really frustrating when you're simultaneously trying to coordinate financing, sell another vehicle, etc. Again, this is really more of venting at this point. I know most of you have been or are in the same situation.

My dealer has been great and if you are in the NC area, I would certainly recommend them. It's frustrating for me, and I'm sure for them, that they are left completely in the dark on these matters. My fear is that the "no updates until end of March" line is completely bogus and that if I actually relied on that, there would be a good chance that a Jeep would magically show up at my dealer by the end of March with absolutely no notice to me ahead of time.
