Not quite even. The giveaway that those are high line is the indent for the hood latch.Doesn't it look like the fenders on the granite rubi I posted aren't high line? It's supposed to be even with the hood line.
Yep, what @BeeLDub said is 100% Correct! Not quite even. The giveaway that those are high line is the indent for the hood latch.
I guess you can get that sucker out without removing the top?
This is the soft top box.![]()
So, please tell me how your dealer is working this? Is it being sent to you later or are they taking it off your order altogether? If they are taking it off your order, then what is the price of the soft top later?Looks like my dealer has convinced Jeep to send my soft top separate as well. Still waiting on an ETA. Now hopefully this does not delay my soft top from getting here.
Good for you Steve. Did your order include the infamous soft top?So... Clearly there have been a drastic change in production.
I ordered my JLUR on 2/12/2018 and based on this news it has already shipped. I have no clue how it moved that fast. Checking with the dealer to see whether this is legit, but that is freaking fast!!!

No Soft Top, but pretty much everything else minus the smokers package.Good for you Steve. Did your order include the infamous soft top?
Yep, no issues then. It's the soft top that keeps us in JB. My vehicle was actually also on KZ already 2 weeks after order, but then moved to JB to wait for that top. Congratulations on your new ride!No Soft Top, but pretty much everything else minus the smokers package.
That sucks... I cant understand how FCA screwed this up with the soft tops. They had to have an idea that they would be desired. Especially in the dual top discounted situation.Yep, no issues then. I agree! Completely short-sighted or undisclosed quality control issues. Either way, rather unfortunate. That sucks... I cant understand how FCA screwed this up with the soft tops. They had to have an idea that they would be desired. Especially in the dual top discounted situation.
There is reason to believe that they had a quality issue with a batch of soft tops. The point is that an order should not pass D1 unless all parts are available (just-in-time manufacturing). Our orders did pass, so I conclude that the tops were available, but then they found an issue with them and had to pull them. Now they are lagging behind and expect to catch up mid March - at least that's what it looks like. That sucks... I cant understand how FCA screwed this up with the soft tops. They had to have an idea that they would be desired. Especially in the dual top discounted situation.
FCA did not screw this up. They do not manufacture them on site. They have an agreement with a vendor. If the vendor is not supplying per their agreement the vendor is penalized. That sucks... Well said Jeff!FCA did not screw this up. They do not manufacture them on site. They have an agreement with a vendor. If the vendor is not supplying per their agreement the vendor is penalized.
I am not championing for FCA but there are so many complaints about FCA and many do not understand what goes into manufacturing a vehicle and how complex it can be. There are way to many scenarios that can affect builds that may be out of their control.
I understand the frustration as we are all very excited for this new release but understand there is nothing you can do about it and your energy is best spent on many other things in this life. You will get your Jeep albeit later than you wanted.
