I’m thinking about getting a tazer for my wrangler. Do you have to keep it installed all the time once you adjust the setting you want or can you remove it without losing your settings. I have a 2026 and I don’t want to Ed’s around with my warranty.

There are 2 types of features with the Tazer. Some settings persist after the unit is unhooked, but many are “live” features that require the device to be present.

Does the tazer void the manufacturer warranty for the vehicle. I have a new 2026 and don’t want to have any issues if I need to bring it back to the dealer for service

It doesn’t void the warranty by it is a beast practice to un marry it and remove it before any service is done.
I know people generally remove it before taking it in for service, but I’m not sure it is necessary to fully unmarry it. I believe fully unmarrying it will revert all the “persistent” changes back to the way they were before marrying.

From my experience when you unmarry the changes you have made like tire change or gear changes remain as you set them.
What I have started doing is making permanent changes with the j scan app and the Tazer is my sgw bypass that allows it.
The Tazer also worked as the sgw bypass with a Powergate for pcm tuning when the pcm is unlocked.
I like a lot of the live features of the Tazer. Brake hold is my friend!

Don't need to unmarry it. Buy the sgw extension cable yo save time removing if you take it to dealer. My dealership doesn't care if it is installed.

You don't need to unmarry to update.
You risk getting your Jeep's firmware in a questionable state if a portion of an update gets undone when you eventually unmarry the Tazer.

dealers seems to vary wildly as to what they might use as an excuse to not honor a warranty.

but i have had a dealer specifically go aftermarket to make the corrections necessary after regearing,.. point being some dealers are cooler about some things than others.

i DO unmarry and remove mine if there's any chance they might apply a software/firmware update.
