thanks for your time!

timing has forced these events to unfold this way:which poses a question -

Jeep (JLUR) coming out of shop on Friday for the hinge corrosion issue (2 weeks).

Saturday I am getting 37s put on on stock suspension.

On the 25th, I’m getting the mopar lift, steering stabilizer and tazer installed.

In June I plan to get the mopar aux kit installed at the dealership - my question is will this in any way interfere with the Tazer when the dealership flashes the system for the new aux kit?

I would say it likely will. The Tazer can write the Aux sales code, so I assume it's within the file that gets modified.

You can either wait to do the tazer or unmarry and remove for the installation.

wait - if the Tazer can activate the six switch then I don’t need the dealership at all for this? I can just install and activate myself?

You can install the aux kit at home and flash the computer yourself with the Tazer. I just did the aux kit install last weekend, not too difficult as long as you're handy with basic hand tools. Tons of YouTube videos and writeups on how to do the install.

Yup. Put the Mopar kit in ours myself and turned it on with the Tazer.

Beware the evil orange wire, other than that and fishing the harness through the firewall grommet the rest is easy.

Don't be like me and spend 30 mins pushing on the wrong side of the connector to get the factory orange wire out. They include a plug to keep the orange wire "disconnectable" but I just hard wired mine in, as I had read about a few problems with the supplied connector in some cases.

Same here, I did get it out, but messed up the clip just enough for it to not click in. I'd probably go straight to hardwire if I did it again.

OP, FYI we're talking about the orange wire in step 19-25 in the instructions.

Yeah. I broke off some of the inner separator material on the big gray connector, but it didn't cause any issues with reconnecting. I think it just got smashed down enough to allow me to reconnect it :CWL:

Is the Tazer JL is really the best way for you to go. Do your homework before you dive in. You may find you are a far better candidate for JSCAN.

For the record, I am very pro Tazer JL but..... it is very often not at all the best choice for a JL owner..

And.... a JL owner may just find the best way to go is the hybrid so to speak choice of using both a Tazer JL and JSACN.

Again, do your homework...

ohh boy. This is going to open up an entirely new discussion. Why wouldn’t someone want the options that the Tazer provides over the Jscan?

Can't speak too much on the topic, but I did just end up having to buy an OBDII adapter for use with J-scan to perform an ABS bleed procedure on my Jeep after an axle swap. What I don't know, and maybe @Rhinebeck01 can provide some insight, is if the TazerJL Mini acts as an SGW bypass that is needed to use J-Scan for some of the more invasive procedures.

I've owned the Jeep for 4 years and the Tazer has done everything I've needed, I'm still uninformed on all of the tasks that J-Scan can perform on these things.

Yes, the Tazer JL Mini or Tazer JL Lite will do security gateway bypass duty when you use your OBDll BT scan tool and JSCAN. Just be sure to unmarry the Tazer JL before hand.

I did not know the tid-bit about unmarrying the Tazer beforehand. Is that precautionary to protect the Tazer/vehicle settings or actually required in order to get J-scan to communicate?

All I plan to use J-scan for is to perform the ABS Bleed, am I then good to re-marry the Tazer and make the changes again or should I just make the changes with J-scan?

I'm on the road right now and replying with smartphone so need to be brief.

JSCAN will still be a go with the Tazer JL married and doing SGW duty . DO, unmarry though and then do what ya got to do with JSCAN and then remarry and check your settings you had done whenever with the TazerJL to assure they are there.
