If sweating isn’t something you want to do every time you want to take off or put on your top, install an electric hoist above your garage ceiling rafters. Then build a 4’ x 4’ frame and attach that to the hoist’s cable. Add straps, and no more sweat!

I built one of those racks too, but why are the doors upside down? You defiantly have the heavy side up. Seems like they would be more likely to fall over that way.

Before the soft top I did the same thing. All hyped up getting it naked and did not think it through. It was easy to get in the air but 6'3 230 is a LOT of person to fold up trying to to set the top down in grass so not to damage it. Built a hoist in the garage the next weekend.

Doors?? My doors aren’t in the photos. When I take them off I hang them on the wall.

LOL! @ChrisTheGod has his doors upside down in the rack, I was curious as to why.

That’s how they fit and they was snug if I tried right side up they wouldn’t fit because of the part where you put your arms

Mine are snug in the rack too but I think that will help keep them secure. I put the front doors in the middle and the rear doors on the outside. The rear doors with the short lower section is rather unsteady in the rack, I may have to figure something out to make it more secure.

When I was in my late teens and twenties I would take the top off my Scout IIs and my YJ by myself and put them back on. No way today. My back just won’t allow it. I would back up to a part of the yard that had a rise or dip so the step off the tailgate would be low. Then after all the bolts were out, I would walk in and find the balance point and lift it with my legs and back, then walk it off. Then I would squat down and crawl out from under it.

I’m about to buy a scaffold to put mine on when it’s off. I still think I can walk it off and sit it on the scaffold, but I need a bench as high as the Jeep’s rear floor and as long as the tailgate. Maybe I’ll buy a cheap winch, but the ceiling in my shop is 14-17’ high.

……also, I just remembered there was another guy who either lifted his top himself or used a winch but didn’t have the strap/hook even. He wound up creating a slight twist which caused one of his windows to shatter.
