I am 5.7 and drive Willy’s Jl 2024 2 door. Opening the soft top is a breeze but I am not able to close it when by myself. I have a sun scree so cat go through the middle, when I step on my side rails I am too much in the front, and from the ground I am too small.

Any ideas? Sick of asking alway my husband … 😊

My wife is shorter than you and does it fine. Just stand on the door sill and grab the side rail/bar/thing and pull it up/forward. It will get easier the more you do it, they are harder when they are new.

You can get a step stool from Walmart-mart to keep around, should do fine. I use one to wash and dry my hard-top, and to remove the freedom panels (not necessary, but insures I don't bang them around when putting them in or pulling them out).

I have closed it once when a rain shower was hitting. But it takes a lot of strength. Maybe I have to open and close it a little more often. Jeep is brand new from the factory 😊

Ya, you just need to use it a bunch then. Good thing it's summer. You could always attach a tether of some sort to pull on to get some mechanical advantage, just be smart where you put it so it's not in a location that could bend something.

Neat idea but I remove my windows when warm weather arrives and keep them out until fall. That allows me to run in 'Safari' mode or with the top down.

Yes, safari mode can be OK for sure... I just put the top down on warmer days. 10 seconds up, 10 seconds down, this allow me to run open top even on high chance of rain days. or iffy weather. I also have a JTops mesh top that I leave on year around so I can go top down and not burn up. No prep or sun screen needed. Not for everyone, but I probably put my top down far more than most.

Yeah, a lesson we learned not so long ago. Install soft top, install sun screen. Leave sun screen installed, open and close soft top from outside the vehicle. But, it works for the 5 or 6 months it'll be used.

I stand in the cargo area and give a good push to get it started.

I put the top up in Safari mode on really, really hot days. It's been 90+ for a week now but this week looks much nicer so the top will be coming down. 5-minutes down, 5-minutes up. EZPZ.
