So, I started getting ready for our Rubicon trip yesterday, by removing the back seat. I'd had it out for the first few years, to accommodate my "dog deck", but had put it back in when relatives needed a vehicle while on vacation here.

I weighed it right at 90 lbs! That and the fact that it takes up a huge amount of volume, makes it worth taking out for our trip where we'll be loading it up.

A side note: My Milwaukee Mid Torque impact decided to sizzle itself when removing a tiny 14 mm nut. I have a replacement on the way, but also found a factory service center in Anaheim where they fix these things.

The back seat just stays out 99% of the time in my 2dr. I need the cargo space more than passenger seating.

I see us '23 owners got shafted regarding the front seat-backs. Yours has the nice plastic back with webbing whereas the '23 Rubicon seats just have a fabric pocket. Oh well, I covered 'em up with seat covers yesterday anyhow.

FWIW, I've never used the Molle webbing for anything. Maybe I should take advantage of it.

'23 Rubicon here, manufacture date April 2023 - I have the webbing backs - no fabric pocket.

Oh, that's weird. Mine was manufactured in March 2023. Cloth seats. Rubicon red stitching with Rubicon logo, but the backs are cloth with a cloth pocket, very plain. Was the plastic back an option? Or part of an additional group?

Back seat take out, I do that when I get home from the dealer where I bought and I put it inside a large Contractor Bag, tape it shut, stash it in the barn and throw it in a back still-in bag at trade-in time.

Never owned a C-dan in my life, never kept a back seat ina 2 dr, just toss in the barn.

And on several of my Jeeps I take out the passenger seat, put it in the barn.

WHY? Because I sleep on the passenger side of the Jeep when I go wheeling and I am usually gone a week to a month at a time. I do stay at a motel for shower n stuff unless I find a nice creek to bathe in.

Its a camp-put run for a week or long weekend. I have AC or heat as needed and I had all night Sirrus radio, life is good. Don't forget to put and extension on the tail pipe about 4-6 in to extend it outside the body of the Jeep so that the exhaust does not pool.

I have used the molle to mount items, very useful and makes it easy to reach while driving if you mount on the back of the passenger side.

I think the best part is the hooks on each side of the seat, absolutely perfect for putting the handles of a plastic bag if you run to the store and don't want the bag rolling around.

My '23 Hydro Blue JLUR has the MOLLE webbing. Weird.
