Yes, fob does have the built in key. Front doors have the key lock, just the tailgate does not.

Due to hard economic times I had to let the chauffeur go and the Bentley was repossessed. Still have the G so times aren't too bad. Taking driving lessons since I forgot how to drive.

It’s obviously because there’s some massive defect with the locks and they ditched them to save on warranty repairs.

I get it’s somewhat trivial, but I’ve had Wranglers going back to the YJ. I notice when things change!

Think i read that they eliminated the lock in Canada last year. Maybe they are eliminating it in the US now.

My 2020 was built in Oct 2019. Has a tailgate lock.

No lock cylinder on my 2018 with hardtop Either. I have to use the FOB every time when running naked.

Man that reminds me of my old nitro, lock actuator crapped out and i had to manually unlock it by popping a panel off. Wonder if it’s that easy in the JL

The key cylinder is definitely manual. Whether it can manually unlock the latch or the latch requires power, remains to be seen. I figure if anything stops working, I can climb through the soft top, incognito style.
