Has anyone looked into wiring the glove box and center console to lock/unlock with the key fob?

With the doors off as much as possible I would love to be able to do this.

I know it’s unlikely, but thought I’d put it out there!

Thanks!

This should be a feature IMO. Even my 2015 convertible Mustang locked the center console when you locked the doors.

Since I have a soft top or no top I don't carry anything there and don't lock them to avoid a thief damaging them trying to get in.
I park inside at night.

Not sure anyone would try to break in where I park during the day, just want to keep the casual jerk honest.

So you never go to a store, restaurant or anywhere else?

So you want to waste money for fob locks even though nothing in them and possible expensive damage. Makes sense.

I think its a cool idea, but sounds like more trouble than reward.
A few months ago, someone broke into my soft top and, among other things, snapped the handle off of my locked glove box.

If you went through all of the effort to put in automatic locks on your glovebox and center console, I would go ahead and upgrade the actual console and glovebox to something beefier and not just do the locking mechanism alone.

If you only did the locks and spent all that time and effort on it and then some jerk came and snapped the handles while they were locked, you might lose your mind :surprised::LOL:

Still, its a cool idea and I'm interested if you undertake a project like that!

That’s a good suggestion.

I’m open to ideas!

There’s a 50/50 chance I actually do this. But I do plan on having my Jeep for a long time.

Don’t hide from that nice young lady at the store who drives a 2012 Jeep Liberty and who’s taken an unhealthy interest in you @amnesiac.
