I was reading the thread on lubing the door hinges and it reminded me I have been meaning to ask what do you all use to lube your tail gate hinge pins - and how do you do it?

My prior TJ's tailgate hinges seized up and became a major PITA and I'd like to prevent this on my JL. I have looked at them and the joints are pretty close together on them and I am wondering if anything I put on them is actually going to get to the part of the hinge pin that it needs to get to?

Thoughts?

White lithium is probably the best, but I like to use silicone spray. I find white lithium got all over the place, then you touch or brush up against it and it's all over you. It works great, just a mess for me.

Silicone spray, I find, you need to use it more frequently but it's not as messy.

I use 3M Silicone Spray Quick Drying on my JL when it squeaks. Spray a little then open and close the gate...repeat. It doesn't attract dust.
